The Scion ccX is a concept car unveiled by the automaker Scion at the Detroit Auto Show on January 7, 2003. The concept car is not likely to be released, as the car is not mentioned on Scion's website, though other concepts such as the t2B and Fuse are. The car is unusual in design, with the roof comprising two panoramic sunroofs that slide in opposite directions connected to form a single platform, not unlike the Scion tC's single panoramic sunroof. The interior is made of futuristic-looking materials, such as blue sport seats and a sleek dash.
The car was designed in Japan and built in Italy. So far, only one has been built

ATTENTION! The 17th Annual All Toyotafest hosted by T.O.R.C. was an awesome event for everyone, but unfortunately there was an incident that has slightly dampened the whole mood...Apparently 2 one of a kind Red T.O.R.C. Lexus flags could not be found and have most likely been stolen. Several announcements were made during the closing of the show, but they never turned up. As far as I know, T.O.R.C. has already filed a police report on the issue, but I would greatly appreciate it if any of you that heard something or know something to please, please, please let the people at T.O.R.C. know (email: events@toyotaclub.org). It is a shame that something like this had to happen....
Excerpt from a note from the T.O.R.C. president:
Excerpt from a note from the T.O.R.C. president:
We have taken great pride in presenting a clean family atmosphere for this event and that has been a big plus for our corporate supporters Toyota, Scion and Lexus. This unfortunate event puts that support in jeopardy these flags are part of a major display that travels the country and has not been put out of commission if Lexus, Toyota and Scion decides to pull their support over this we may have to eliminate some categories from future events and that would be unfortunate to all participants and spectators alike, we would appreciate the return of these flags as soon as possible no questions asked. Or, any information leading to its return will be kept in confidential.

My real car (the real Scion tC2) is currently out at a shop for a good part of a week. Don't worry nothing is wrong, I have another super cool, super special surprise project I will spring on you all soon that is being worked on. So anxious about it, I can't wait!
...but I'm going to have to...
Well in the meantime I do have another project I can work on. I just recently got my hands on these interesting pieces for my HPI tC2 kit:

Yes, those are Drift Tires, with Bronze Volk TE37 look-a-like wheels. An extra 350z Widebody Body. And finally the tC2 clear body with sticker sheet and light bucket (not pictured).
Here is what it looks like on the Speed Racer tC2

You can't really see it from those pictures, but I got tagged while using it at T.O.R.C. ! hahah OEM Audio+ and HPI represent!

And then on the 350z Wide Body

Comparing the two, it sits so high!

I guess I have to adjust the posts each time I want to switch bodies. I've gotten to drive it around a little with the drift tires and wow, it is so different than the rubber tires. Just a pull of the trigger and the car starts drifting already. I'll get used to this. I think I like the rubber tires more, just because it feels more like racing a car. The drift tires are more of a fun habit that I'll run from time to time, most likely at shows since the space is smaller. Well with the car out for now, I guess I'll have plenty of time to practice using both tires.
...oh yea and modifying my next tC2 kit
This will be my first time painting, but I'm excited to see how it will turn out, Stay Tuned!
Oh and in case you didn't see Speed Racer in action back at T.O.R.C. here it is again below:
The first one is with the stock rubber tires and the other is with drift tires (not the ones above).

Hey Justin, I can't find your post about the HPI bodies, but I am going to be buying an HPI next week and was wondering if they just sold the tC2 body at dealerships? or do you have a hookup? Thanks

body only, nope. sorry. only full kits because of the current contract between scion/hpi.
FYI, my "extra bodies" are from kits that are used for other HPI/Scion projects. so i have the parts they no longer need. so its not like i'm buying extra bodies myself....

like the one in the top left?

funny thing, they were selling the chassis only at TORC. no body. basically the opposite of what u want.
however u want to buy the AE86 body only (either the tureno or the levin)...they have that at any HPI distributor. not at scion dealers. BUT keep in mind the AE bodies are 190mm while the tC2 body is 200mm...so if u buy the tC2 kit and then the AE body might not fit it

Cool. yea, thats what I want, and I looked it up, 190mm and 200mm bodies should fit on the E10 chassis that I am going to pick up. just a bummer, seeing a cement tc2 replica would have been soooooo cool! ;-)

A little help with painting r/c bodies if you need it.
One of my better paint jobs.

Another shot

The wing served a purpose, the truck spent more time in the air than on the ground!

The body nor the wing survived this day, I know I destroyed 100 bucks worth of parts that day. Not my ramp btw, I would not have painted something that cheesy.
Ok I am done cluttering up your thread.. hope that helps..

Wider is better!! That's about the only way you can make those monster trucks stable. Stock they are like trying to drive a basketball. When I posted this,I thought I was in Black Mamba's thread for some reason.. Long night at work.
I knew that he is new to r/c and could prob. use the paint help.
