Default Possible 2012 purchase?

Hey guys!
I've been shopping for a new vehicle now and have narrowed down to a 2012 altima sedan or TC. The altima has steering wheel controls which is hard to find, s trim, keyless ignition, fog lights, and spoiler. The TC is base and both come with automatics/cvt and are under 10k miles. The altima is asking 16.4k and willing to go down a little. The tc is asking 17k HOWEVER I've talked to the dealer and they're willing to go down to 16k and add fog lights with a spoiler to match the altima since I told them about the other deal. What I'm asking is could I try to get the dealer to add on loweringsprings or something else since the altima comes with other features the TC does not however TC also has things altima does not have. Also does anyone think I should get the altima instead of the TC?

Altima is a better driver IMHO... Tc looks nicer.
On hindsight, I would of bought a 13 veloster turbo with ultimate package, I have about the same wrapped in my tc, its way cheaper on insurance as well. Altima is nicer out of the two cars, and its cheaper insurance as well that will add up.

Im going to talk from experience. I am 30 years old and ive owned the following
1. 1985 Chevy Monte Carlo
2. 1995 FORD contour
3. 2001 Mustang GT
4. 2003 ALTIMA
5. 2007 ALTIMA AND VW GTI 2.0T
6. 2012 SCION TC

I really enjoyed the Mustang A LOT! Loud, very fast and I put so much money into it
The Altimas were a quiet and boring ride but they offered comfort, gas efficiency and a lot of space.
the 2003 Altima was a 2 year lease.
I then traded the 2007 Altima for the VW GTI 2.0T and I loved it. I still have it as a second vehicle.
My wife drives a 2007 Corolla and I use the 2012 Scion TC as a Daily driver.
My opinion...get the Altima but do some research because I heard the Transmissions are not so good. The only issue I had was with the 2003, it gave me major exhaust manifold issues and misfires

Yeah I heard about those transmissions. My sister has a 2012 Altima with the cvt base no fog or anything but I still like to drive it and have been for the past year. I had a chart for why I wanted each.
2012 Scion TC
8 Speakers <--- HUGE plus for me because audio is very mportant
Traditional autobox
panoramic roof <-- love it
hatchback <-- something i've always loved
customization
2012 Altima
looks more mature/luxurious
more softer touch materials
interior is beautiful
more space <-- however I have a friend with the 2010 Tc and my friends and i have no problem fitting in that which is perfect for me.

Somethings i've picked up on my sisters altima that i noticed i dont like/bother me
no sunroof, no steering wheel controls, a tiny bit of rust in door sills, cvt is alright, i can't remember the others but the stereo in the altima ain't bad but i'd imagine the tc would be better.
Also does anyone think dealer would likely install the lowering springs if I went TC? TC doesn't have keyless ignition, and door sills?

I truly believe you got the better deal, comfort and cheaper insurance. That alone will make you smile with extra savings.

I honestly don't know. Her's is actually cheaper then mines because of her gpa and driving school. However i still love all the extra features mines came with, I found out it also came with puddle lights at night haha! Also she was able to get 1.5% finance me 1.95% I love mines like crazy but whenever i see hers idk there's a little bit of regret but hey I believe that if the scion is the better of the two cars then she deserves it!

Its only exterior styling cues that you like. It does look more stylish but the altima will drive better imho. Hopefully you wont be tempted now to blow a lot of money on trying to rice out an altima. Leave as is, drive it til wheels fall off, buy new car, repeat.

Yeah the altima came fully loaded with everything besides leather, sunroof, and bose system. I don't plan to do anything besides debadging, painting brakes, tint, and sub.(http://www.crutchfield.com/p_158XDPP...nd-System.html)
however for next car after I graduate college I do plan on getting a stick to work on possibly 280z since i'm in love with them. My sister loves the Altima and all it's just that she's too short to drive it (about 4'10 or 4'11) and whenever she drove our old car or the Altima she needs a pillow to sit on to see over wheel LOL. She's able to drive the Scion perfectly though without a pillow so she's happy with it. I am however gonna help her put some things on her TC nothing big she just wants fogs, tint, spoiler, paint brakes, and more interior lights <-- it's dark as ____ at night!

I am however soooo jealous of her wheels! Like wow when she parks behind me it makes my 16s (already small as is) look puny!

Now i'm worried about my car running into problems down the road because her car was certified pre-owned and comes with a 7 year 100k warranty while mines came with nothing besides the original 3 year. Also I noticed a tiny clear coat chip on my hood does anyone know what I should do about it? I know it'll slowly get bigger over time

You didnt mention the warranties in original post.. 7yr 100k is what i have on my car. totally worth it.

I bought a set of paint pen, and clear coat pen. I've used it a few times.
https://touchupdirect.com/

I just use a small tooth pick to apply the paint, and same for the clear instead of risking it globbing out as a blob.

O crap... I'm gonna call up the local Nissan dealership and check if there's anything I can do about the warranty. :'(
So far i'm very happy with the Altima the sedan body was very useful the other night when I had to drive around 5 other people (4 in back)

I'm really hating the tiny 16s alloys on it gonna save up some money for a set that won't make me want to rake out my eyes haha. Also just had a friend that just purchased a
2013 Civic sedan lx going to compare the 2 cars to that though I think the civic may lose in the comparison. Also helping a friend find a car locally for 3k looking at some integras and civics.

Smaller rims= cheaper tires. lol. I am a super conservative. I don't like civics, atleast newer ones are really crappy compared to last generations. The quality control has gone down a lot.
