Has anyone else noticed that the ECU on the automatic Scion tC does'nt let it go over 120mph.when I first got my car I thought it was that was the top speed since I was hitting it in 6 gear but now that I have bolt on I hit 120 in 4th gear and it stopes their even if I shift.

 

It is electronically limited to 119mph.

 

That's weird my tc is auto and hit 130+ i did need a lot of road to achieve this if i had more i could top out the needle i think.

 

LOL, I haven't gone faster than 96 mph yet. Thanks to city traffic.

 

manual isn't governed so the car can hit 150mph... now the auto on the other hand is governed at 119 as stated in an earlier post

 

i have a manual and it doesn't goes past 120..... you reflashed that ecu ?

 

Nope. its needed to be from a complete stop, and red line through the gears right before the rev limiter kicked on. It takes awhile to get there, but I won't do it again because over 130 its completely sketchy... Feels like a gust of wind will spin you out of control. Also I have a 2011 pre Tsunami TC, so they may have made changes to the program but i doubt it would make a difference

 

I’ve actually gone around 153 mph.

 

Don't get pulled over. That kind of speed risks physical confrontation.
