Default So whats really missing from the TC2 that was in the TC1?

Alot of reviews and comments i read around the internet suggests that the 2G is missing features from the 1G while costing more. But when i try to figure out some of these features, i cant really come up with too many if they havent already been completely redesigned already. It really feels like comparing apples to oranges, expecially when you see all the gains and impovments in the 2G

Automatic power windows?
subwoofer (but we gained several more speakers)?
waterfall dashboard design (really?)
better fabric ( but of course only in the later years)?
2nd reverse light (topic over)
2 tiered armrest
engine cover
glass moonroof visor ( replaced with netting in tc2)
hydraulic power steering(electric steering in tc2)

the lists seems to be pretty short, can anyone else come up with anything?

It's not an apples to oranges comparison, it's supposed to be an improvement over the older model. Whether it is or not is subjective.

There two storage space for the armrest. The top lid flips up to revel a smaller compartment (for pens, garage door opener, pack of gum, whatever), and the top and bottom lid to revel the larger compartment that houses the ipod/aux connector and the aux power source, like in the tc2.

Here are some pixs of the 1st gen tc armrest in a 9th gen corolla.

missing the engine cover on the tc2.

The tc never came with automatic climate control. On the 1st gen it's all digital.

Dude I ____ing hate the sunroof. Major fail on the cloth flap and ditching the glass one.

It literally is so loud you can't carry a conversation in any of the 3 open positions. SMH

No more hydraulic power steering(IDK if its good or bad. Definitely weird)
No individual map lights.
Non defeatable VSC(over 25 mph)
Temp gauge.
Rear springs and shocks separate(not coilover).
No seat tilt adjust(only a combined up down control). Not many cars do this anymore and it is something I really like about my tc.

Oh, and that damned ECO light annoyed the ____ out of me on my test drive.

I <3 my tachometer.

I felt as if the transmission would upshift early and try to stay in high gear as much as possible but when I put it in manual mode it would not hesitate to downshift. I have never encountered an auto-manual trans that I liked.

I must be missing something...
- Push the VSC Off button and the "TRAC OFF" light comes on.
- Hold the VSC OFF button and the TRAC OFF light and the VSC Off lights both come on.
- Punch it, spin the tires in 1st and 2nd
- Hit 50+ mph and the lights remain on
- Stop and punch it again (lights are still on and I don't push the button again) and spin the tires in 1st and 2nd again.

Sure seems like the trac control stays off. Anyone else getting this?
