Sure seems like the trac control stays off. Anyone else getting this?
Yes. Look up the difference between traction and stability control.

Although i may be getting it confused with the Golf GTI who's stability control is on regardless above 25mph.

FUN FACT:

Given sufficient velocity and violence of application, it is possible to set the brakes on fire.

Oh, and that damned ECO light annoyed the ____ out of me on my test drive.
i'm sorry can you explain what individual map lights and VSC are? and when you say temp gauge are you talking about cabin temp or engine?

1)there are three lights in the overhead console in the tC1:1 dome light(what the '11 has) and 2 individually switched lights aimed(sort of) at the driver and passenger.

2)Vehicle stability control. Good for n00bs but it gets in the way when you race/autox.

3)engine temp.

I find with a FWD car, the VSC isn't as much of a nuisance as with RWD cars. Then again, I find the under steer slows you down more on the track than VSC on RWD cars...

Missing 2nd reverse light and engine temp gauge bothers me.
And I'm too lazy to add them myself :p

I agree about the reverse light. I was also shocked about the temp gauge. Freaked out the first week I got the car.
They have it integrated in the dash via warning lights. It's not bad and I actually like it because there's less clutter on the dash. I just have no idea what the overheat warning light looks like and whether or not this new electronic system is precise..

Hopefully no one will have engine problems, therefore validating the removal of the temp gauge

Don't mind the removal of hydraulic power steering. Less power consumption from the engine and one less pump that can go bad and need to be replaced. One less fluid your car requires.

There's a lot of recalls on the EPS system. A few comes to mind, Chevy, Lexus, Mazda recently did a recall on their electric power steering system for a malfunction that could lead to hard steering, loss of steering or slow to return to center.

I'll stick with my hydaulic power steering, thank you very much.

Alright, I recant my statement that suggested that electric power steering is more reliable lol.

But I still like the feeling of having one less pump being driven by the engine. Also the lack of noise caused by a pump.

The 15% tint on my rear window prevents anyone from seeing what's in the cargo area under any lighting. My silver 500/1v2 contrasts greatly with the dark interior, and is still not visible when peering into the rear window.

the interior design.. the 2nd gen is too toyotaish where the 1st gen especially with the enclosed stereo gave it an overall metalic look... overall it looked a lot sportier too me..but thats just the inside its my only issue, and yeah the gauges i hate them on the new tc, the older tc look was much better, but thats just 02

There's an Eco light? Is that one that tells you to upshift early? Must have been turned off, I haven't seen it.
