Default CV Joint problems anyone?

So, on my way home from a little weekend road trip the inner CV joint blew. I have a 2015 tC lowered on BC Racing coilovers that has 12,000 miles on it. I fully understand that lowering a vehicle puts more stress on the axles and the joints so thats my fault Lol. Since this is my only vehicle and considering how low I am, it was only a matter of time for it to happen. I just didn't expect it to be this quick.

I'm just curious if any other slammed tCs have blew CV joints this quickly? I did some quick searches but couldn't really find anything besides people with the older generation tCs with more miles on them.

I had a boot tear a couple months back around 68K, I'm on the Tien SS-Ps. ITs dropped but not slammed mostly due to the 3" exhaust on it that scrapes everything already.....

hmm .. I got it fixed at my work and I talked to my buddy who worked on it and he said my boot was a clean cut, as if someone held a knife to it as it rotated. I'm guessing something got caught up in there and sliced it?

If the boot were to come open from just being low and driving around, I figured it would be more like your case; a tear, not a clean cut

Yah mine was more like a small hole ~3mm long. if your crar is lowered those things are at most 4" above the surface of the road and much lower over bumps so i can see how it would be cut. the only reason i found mine was during an oil change and crawled under there and it was like a lube factory exploded under my car. traced it down to the CV and had to spin the axle around a few times to find it. It actually got covered by toyota under their "extra care" service because it failed right after the warranty expired. it also helps my best buddy's the mechanic lol...
