Default 2006 xA grill

after doing 3 hours of searches, chatting with a rep from the scion site, talking to two different parts techs at different dealerships, and calling Bespoken....i have found this....

1. scion reps at scion.com don't know the dimensions of the grills, so they cannot help.

2. parts guy at crown said he didn't know but he "thought" the rs1.0 might fit the 06...but he can't get it in a different color.

3. parts guy at san berdu said that it probably won't because they both have different part numbers.

4. the bespoken guy said that the 06 kenstyle grill will fit because it was for the 06, but i haven't seen the 06 grill yet. the pic that is posted is of an 05 xA. but he said that kenstyle does make the oem parts. so it should fit.

here is my question....has anyone tried to just grab an 05 grill and put it on their 06 yet? i'm not talking about the lower mesh grill under the license plate, just the top half that's directly under the hood.

if it doesn't fit does anyone make a different grill that will fit the 06?

i'm trying to figure this out before the shop starts doing repairs (i got in an accident on thursday) and they said if i wanted to i could get aftermarket parts if i wanted to. so i figure why not, i have to pay for a new grill anyway right?

The angle on the lower part of the grill is different between '05 and '06.

Yea if you've read any of the other posts about us 06 guys needing grills you'll see that the angle at the bottom of 05 grills is different than that on the 06's. I dont think any of them are direct bolt on to our model without some shaving of the lower angles. If your willing to try that its deffinately worth the look.

Seems like you tried all the wrong sources for accurate info. Glad you finally found where to ask first next time.

so, the lower part of the top grill that's got the bar across it is the part that has the wrong angles?

that's what i thought i was reading in the threads, but the guy at bespoken told me it was the lower grill (the mesh one under the license plate).

....so if i have this right, the top grill is in fact the one that has the wrong angle on the bottom of it.

thanks for the info. and this is also lame, i wish i knew how to fab kits now.

That's correct the top grill with the Scion badge has the wrong angle at the bottom of the two side posts where they meet the bumper.

The lower grill is just totally different all together. '05 is more oval and '06 is more of a trapezoid.
