Default XA Body Kits? Fab?

Hey does anyone know much about body kits that could explain why this Fab kit on Ebay is so cheap?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...spagenameZWDVW
This thing would only be $435 shipped to my door. Don't they normally sell for like $700-$800? Would I be gettin ripped off somehow?

So do body kits go over the existing front and rear bumpers or in place of them? How well do they hold up?

Here is a place selling the same kit for $721.65 and that doesnt include shipping
http://www.grounddynamics.com/Templa...588&SearchYN=N

OK and one more thing is it just me or is the Type FX Body Kit on that page the JL Garcia renamed? Could ANY bodyman install something like that with fender flares and all or would they need to be more familar with customs?

Thanks guys
-Mikey

Ok, there are two types of kits, full replacement and lip kits. You own a 2006 xA and to the best of my knowledge there are no body kits that will fit it. The Fab kit you're looking might fit an 06 simply because the kit is a bumper and sideskirt replacement, but I have not seen or heard of anyone with one on an 06. The Fab kit as well as any other kit will not fit exactly right and will need to be custom fitted.

Now about the price of that kit in the link... that price is an obvious fake. If you want a decently made kit at a good price Extreme Dimensions made the one I currently run. As for anything made of fiberglass it will not take any stress without cracking or chipping, basically if you take a hit you'll be searching for a new bumper. Poly-urethane kits are worth the money, they are almost OEM in durability if not better.

1. You're a noob.
2. Body kits replace your bumpers.... lip kits are added on to stock bumpers.
3. EBAY is where poor people go to rice out their ride.
4. That kit you showed is a replica kit that is most likely (99.9999999%) poor fitting and poor quality.... you'll probably spend over $1000 in total to get it fitted properly.
5. No, FAB kits don't normally cost $800... they normally cost over $1500 (the 2nd link worth $721 is also a knock-off).
6. If you don't even know about body kits, i'm pretty sure (if you do buy one) you'll destroy yours in a month because you don't properly change your driving style. Unless you get urethane... in which case you'll destroy it in 2 months....

yea, needless to say I'm keeping an eye on you MelGibson. The main reason this person posted was because they did not know, no reason to belittle them, we all didn't know things at one time.

Yea, you already got 2.

We live in the age of search features on forums and google. You asked a question that has been answered endless times. Don't blame me for your lazyiness.

I will blame you for your GED with that mis-spell, if you want to be picky and attack people for no good reason.

I, too, am pretty damn helpless when it comes to modifying my car and this place has been everything and helpful to most any "noob" that has a question.

And the search function here kinda sucks, so I can see why he avoided that.

Sorry guys, but I took interested since we were talking about 06 kits. Very disappointing that nothing will fit my xA, but thanks for the info.

you don't even OWN a scion according to your profile dude, don't come on this forum laying into other people who just have a question. They asked, they got an answer, end of story. No one's worse off except yourself for making a fool of yourself, chill out

Well I did get the one from e bay and it is fiberglass and a knockoff. Now for the fitment its not all that bad, yeah it will take some work but for the most part it fits ok. I am doing all the work myself even the paint cause anyone with a bank roll can have a car done the way they want it but to build one yourself with blood sweat, and beers means allot more to me. I can do bodywork thats why I went with fiberglass cause yes it will get screwed up soon. The other kits that cost allot more are great for the people that will take it to a body shop. It will cost you less in labor cause of the better fitment and it easy to paint. Any body kit you get you have to change the way you drive cause it will set lower to the ground and fiberglass and the road don't mix to well.
I am test fitting the kit now and you can see some of the pic's on this post
