Although I like the new front bumper and love the side skirts it makes me mad that all those sick body kits from japan are all made for the 05 style bumper. I have yet to see a good body kit for the new one. The grill is nice too, but I am getting the JDM sport grill. The one that was on the special release one

I would have prefered the floodlight knock outs stayed round,
especially since I bought 2005 floodlights for my 2006 XA.....bummer. Anyone need OEM floodlights for a 2004-2005? Cheap....

taken a while but i guess its pretty close i think most of us would all agree that the skecth we've seen of the new ist is worse than either of the current designs.

^^^ I agree... I like the slight flares on the 06 front bumper above the fog light housings. Overall I like the 06 front bumper much better than the 05, has a more aggressive look, IMHO. I also like the side mirror turn signals as well, although I think the side signals in the front fenders look a little out of place since there are also signals in the mirrors. I also like the grille of the 06 a lot more than the 05. I like the rear bumper of the 05 more but I admit that the 06 looks better given the new front bumper as well, it'd look f'ugly to have an 05 rear bumper with an 06 front bumper.

A very important change is the steering wheel with radio controls on it. Plus the design of the wheel is much better (I think they got that from TC)
Overall here's my 2 cents:
- front grille - much better, has the sporty mesh in it
- front bumper - better, I like the edgy lines compared to the round one
- painted side skirts - much much better. When I was buying my car I test drove an 04 with plastic unpainted side skirts, they got grayish from age and salt on the road. Looked bad
- mirror blinkers - helpful and more stylish feature
- different steering wheel - a lot better than 04 and 05
- rear bumper - much worse, don't like the shape at all
- rear tails - indifferent to it. But the brake like looks like Jaguar S-type style
- different dashboard - don't care too much for this change
