I was doing 45mph down some roads near the dealer in the prius. I was on the interstate, but was careful to watch the posted limit, then drafted a large tour bus. I stopped as usual by releasing the gas and riding the brake to regen or engine brake. You can hit 60 mpg in the xa behind a large semi truck as is at or slightly above highway speeds. Acceleration and shifting too early in the xa kills fuel economy. That little engine loves to rev. If you are in doubt pick the lower gear when you shift.

Yeah, I seldom see a prius driving efficiently.
