My dealer said the Xa was going to be reintroduced later in 2009. Anyone else here of this?

 

Definately not. I don't think he knows what he is talking about!

 

The 2009 Honda Fit looks like a morphed xA ... getting more rounder/bubbly/aero .... kinda/sorta like the xA , but not quite.




Toy. should reintroduce the xA, once they get more full-on Hybrid lines going(2011+) ..... and slightly change up some things(keep it as light weight as possibe + aero).... it would be a hot seller + probably at least 3-4K more $ then say a 2006(so $17-17.5), but would boost MPG by 20+ - take it to the 55+mpg range!

Oh how I wish this were true. Would have like to traded up to an 09 xA, although now the xD is starting to grow on me.

 

the xD isn't growing on me still.
based on my xA, my mom bought a new Scion, but she went with an xB2 over an xD.
I understand the xA competed against the Yaris.
They should have made both cars on the same platform to save $$

I was & always will be a hatchback fan (I consider the xD & xB2 converted SUV's)

 

My dealer friend indicated it would be smaller and more efficient than the xD. But I think he must be confused.

 

i wouldnt go with the leads and things dealers say. i remember asking about the RS3 xA back when scionlife got the color and accessories it came with and i heard things from dealers such as ohh thats not to final design or it wont be out for another 2 years, blah blah blah.

but as far as a second gen xA, ehh it could happen but i dont see it coming.

 

There will be no more xA, that stupid xD replaced it.....remember. If.......and only If there will be an xA comeback, I would think that we would see somthing/hear something by the end of the autoshow season.....but I highly doubt it.

I'm sorry but I highly doubt they'd bring back the xA. Scion wouldn't do that anyways. Being how much a flop its was. (Not talking down on the xA). If anything, Scion would bring back the 1st gen xB.

 

It wold be pointless to reintroduce the xA after coming up with the xD. The xD isn't stupid anyways, get over the fact your car isn't made anymore. 'Sides it makes it a more rare car since there aren't many out there.

I thought it highly unlikely as well, but thought I'd put it out there. I like my xA, but it has a lot of rattles that annoy me. I like the xD also, but it doesn't get near the mpg, still the traditional speedo has an appeal to me.

If they bring back the xA, wouldnt that also imply that the xD isnt doing all that well...since the xD was meant to replace it?

 

A good indicator of things like this it to look at what Toyota is doing in Japan. They recently "refreshed" the IST and it now looks like the xD (or more specifically is an xD).

As much as I would love to see an updated xA I agree with a few others on here in saying that a similar looking car will arrive around 2010 as a hybrid.

OK, here is the problem with bringing back the xa.... you cannot bring back something that is already here. the xd is the xa in other countries. the xb is dead and the new xb(2) has the wrong name.

the current lineup should be named as follows:

tC still the tC
xD IS the xA over seas and the name should go back to xA
xB IS NOT a real xB, formally known as bB over seas and the current bB is handsdown the BOMB. Thus the current xB should have been named the xD leaving room for Scion to learn the mistakes of their ways and bring back a xB classic in 2009 or whenever they plan to go hybrid.

 

I've been told that there will be a car smaller than the xD in the future.

The xA is not dead. But the name is.
