Anyone considering trading in their xA for the Yaris?

To quote the experts:
Yaris fuel efficiency will be among the highest in the subcompact segment. A preliminary EPA fuel economy mpg rating for the Liftback is estimated at 34 city/40 highway for the five-speed manual and 34 city/39 highway for models equipped with the four-speed automatic. The EPA pegs the Yaris Sedan with preliminary estimates of 34 city/40 highway for the five-speed manual and 34 city/39 highway for the automatic.

FYI - you will NEVER find a "stripped down" Yaris sitting on a dealers lot.. you can't even pre-order one with the bare bones basics.
I think it is complete BS when they offer it on Toyota's site as "options", only to find out, they are built with at least "a few options you have no control over."
Mines still on the boat.... the "slow boat from Japan!"

HUH? The Yaris I saw had a few options, auto, and was selling for the sticker prices of about $12.5K. They'll be loading them up right now because they're still new, but eventually they'll be cutting back on the options on some of the ones that show up on the lot. Once the hype settles down you should be seeing average prices around $12.5 - $13.5K. Yeah, you'll probably have to special order to get a stripped down one. But you should be able to find one for a decent price on the lot. I have seen listed, as well as heard on Yaris forums, that some dealerships have them loaded up and then tacked on a couple grand on top of that, figuring somebody would be crazy enough to buy it. Seems to be mostly in California big cities from what I've heard. It's not something you'll see everywhere. And $3K tacked on is just 'highway robbery.'
Some regions wll have certain options installed, no matter what. Like here in New England, you'll be getting the cold weather package which includes rear wiper (yes, that is actually optional-hatchback only) and heavy duty starter and such, so in some areas you may never be able to get a totally base price unless you order it further south and then bring it up north, but you can get pretty close. On the Toyota website, when you put in your Zip code, that determines your 'base price.' The standard items list changes as well. At least that was how it was working when I last went there. Now I spend all my free time over here.

My point was, replying to the person that DIDN'T want this or that, where he would change is own.. its not gonna happen.
And the Liftback starts at UNDER 11k on the site, but show me one dealer, if you have done as much real looking as I have before buying, that will have one without the Convience Package (only $650, but still, not something everyone wants or needs), or the stupid floor mats most dealers say is "the way Toyota builds them, its not an option."
I got mine with everything but power package (we located this one JUST after it was built, with no dealer "claiming" it yet for a customer), for $14,230.00 OUT THE DOOR.
Like ive already mentioned, I dont need every option, yes I also liked both the xA and xB, but its a commuter car ONLY, so i choose the styling of the Liftback over the Scions. I have other cars/trucks in my stable to play with.

Do a search, over on the Yaris Owners Lounge or whatever (on the ToyotaLife.com site) there is a company that just came out with two sets of lowering springs.
I two am interested in coil overs, but may try springs until then.. dunno.
Take some day pics please!

I wouldn't trade in my xA for Yaris.......
...but I would trade it in for '07 Camry LE
I think they look "sexy" ...My mouth watered when I walked to a showroom one at Carmax while after putting my order in for my front end mask
