LOL, if you get a check engine its no real big deal. It just means you need to extend your O2 sensor. Not hard at all. If you purchase it I can help you with install info

both o2 sensors on the xa are located right in front and right in back of the CAT so the header should not change anything with the postions of the o2 sensors

Got me all interested and wanting to throw these on... Went to the Weapon R site and to my disappointment I see, "Not Carb Legal"....
don't forget those quotes are for a previously unmodified car.

If do your intake, header & exhaust, each say you'll gain 10hp, by the time you do all 3, you sure don't have a 30hp gain - more like 15...

I have the DC single canister axle back, does it matter which brand header I chose? I have heard that you would want to stick with one company for certain system combos

No, you're still running your stock back pipe anyways.... Even if you did still have a full cat-back exhaust it won't matter... Just gotta go with the header that provides the best gains....

I put a Strup on mine. It's stainless, so it won't rust. It's ceramic-coated, so it'll keep the heat inside. It's a work of art. Everything fit perfectly. It's a shame no one can see the header - I'd like to show it off!

Keep the fit in mind, as the bolts & studs to mount the header to the head are blind.

DC was recently bought. I don't know if they will be the same. My DC muffler is nice, but I think Strup makes a nicer header. According to the 'butt dyno', I gained a few horses...

One more thing to keep in mind...every mod you do, you'll gain high-end power, but you'll LOSE low-end power.

Also keep in mind that is where the xA is at it's weakest... The high end...

Damn thing struggles between 3rd/4th gear...

I find no problem with 3/4 gears, my problem is 1/2. Off the line I have to spend valuable time shifting and not going. I like how 3rd and 4th feel, I just find myself looking for 6th but its never there

I have the Weapon R header. It was a really easy installation (I had to remove the wiper cowl and wiper assembly). There was a definite change in sound (I have axle back exhaust) and a slight gain in power. However, there is no way in hell it makes 11hp.

Yeah brand is more for,

A) Looks
B) Workmanship (ie. wields)

But that IMHO anyways...

A pipe is a pipe, I don't see how many different ways you can make a pipe to have it perform better with the exception of quality bends, and quality wields to prevent leakage and metal fatigue...

I didn't remove ANYTHING except for the heat shield.

the only halfassed thing was zip-tying the shifter cables.

I run the Weapon-R header and love it. You can attach the factory heat shield so that it looks stock. So you can get away at a careless smog check =) personally I'll just change things at the time of the smog =)

well there is a diff from 4-2-1 headers and 4-1 headers. And it may say 11hp but is probaly at the crank.

I wouldn't even say 11hp at the crank. Anyways it would definitely pass an inspection because it's not really that different from the stock part and it doesn't replace any smog equipment. As for emissions testing I don't see why it wouldn't pass but I can't say for sure I don't have emissions testing where I live. But yes I think it was worth $300.

how do headers affect the sound of your exhaust? louder, quieter, or just different? I just installed the strup axle back this past weekend (love it) and was wondering what differences I would notice if I got the strup header as well. (btw, I also have a k&n typhoon intake).
