I was driving to my friend's house around 2am a few weeks ago and I accidentally hit a possum. Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention, but by the time I noticed it, it was too late for me to avoid it. I was going 40-45mph and it went across my entire bumper; my tow-hook cover on the left of my bumper was popped out, but there's a big crack on the right side of my bumper..ouch. thankfully the possum came out of it in one piece, no blood and guts. i drove back to check it out but it was gone..






almost all of the clips snapped off, so my grille is loose at the bottom.

Sorry to see the damage your car took though. Hopefully can get away w/o having to spend too much to replace.

 

They have opossums in California? When I see an animal, I try to avoid it or hit with my tire. Here in VA deers are a real problem and can cause some real damage.

 

possums are freakin everywhere, i think. i can't stand them , they're so nasty looking.

I hate possums..they're nasty mean and I hate hitting or getting hit by animals (deer)!!

 

Hope your repairing won't cost that much ! other than possums on the road.. i see frickin cats..

 

It most likely died from it's injuries not far from where you hit. You were going pretty fast.

I personally feel for you, Nov `05 I hit a possum sized dog on I-12 @ 75MPH and total damages = $3780 , but I was nailed with $500 deductible........

Sorry to see your egg got cracked, but you can reseat the lower grille... The little tabs go thru the outer lip of the grille. Unless they changed from the 05s.
Personally, I hate possums.

 

I had a bird fly into my grill today. I was doing 45mph and this light rain makes them stalk the edge of the road for worms coming up for air. I pulled up and saw no damage, but see a few feathers behind my grill.

i hate possums too.....i ran over a possum today actually...i didnt have any damage though.....thank god
