Default Just put in my 2006 xA order!

I just went down to Tom Scott Toyota here in Nampa, Idaho a few hours ago and put $500 down towards my new IIP xA to get it "Preferenced" in. The way the dealer explained it to me was that they put in an order for that particular car and I then wait about 8 weeks for it to come in. I'm so excited, I can't wait.

The only question is, is the $500 or so down payment usual for most dealers? They said that the deposit was completely refundable since even if I decide I don't want it after they get it in, the xA has such a high demand that they wont have any trouble selling it. I'm not exactly worried.

I have seen a lot of posters say they put $500 down on an order so that is not out of line. If you want a car here in LA you have about 50 dealers within driving distance or they work out a swap for you. Tell them that you don't want your license drilled in the bumper and don't stand for any add ons that you don't want. Good luck and hope your 8 weeks goes quickly.

Yeah, I mentioned the no front drill holes. I've already ordered my licence bracket off ebay.

>_> I opted to wait a few more months for the 07 models. Or even the RS3.0

Congrats on your xA order! Your salesman is correct. When I took my xA in recently for the first free oil change, my salesman told me he could sell way more xA's than he could ever get! I have an 06 xA in IIP color also. Did you order auto or manual? What accessories did you order? Hope your wait is a short one! Keep us posted.

I ordered a 5spd manual, with just the side curtain air bags. The rest is stock. I plan on getting my hands dirty by ordering all the accessories I want online. The first thing I'm going to add would be Fog Lights, mud guard, cargo mats, and floor mats.

After that I'm thinking of getting it lowered and a CAI and Axleback exhaust.

Hey noderat. I'm in the same situation as you. I went to the dealership about two weeks ago and gave them my $500 for my deposit. They said that the first thing they were going to do is try to get a trade with another dealership, but to no avail. I ordered the same exact car as you. IIP with 5 Spd Manual, but instead of side airbags, I am getting the alarm and spoiler installed. They told me about a week ago that my delivery date was the 15th of this month because it was coming straight from Japan. I'm glad I am down to 4 days and don't have another 8 weeks to wait. I don't know if I COULD have waited more then 2 weeks. I am dying as it is and it's only been 2 weeks. Good luck with you waiting time!

!*!*! 4 MORE DAYS !*!*!

I know how you feel! I can't stand it! I'm constantly looking at the calendar to see how many more days. I'm going INSANE. I hope they call me soon and tell me the same thing! I'd love to be able to drive my baby here soon.
