Default LEDs in Air Vents XA

Hey guys,
i did a search, but I just installed LEDs in my air vents.
I did one per vent. Problem is, they are distracting, maybe its where I drilled. How did all you guys get such an even glow? From the driver's seat I can see the actual LED itself.

Help please. I want to fix this asap.

Anyone have pics of the LEDs in a XA?

heres mine, you have to mount the led on the curve, so you wont see it. at least thats how mine got done.

I installed blue LEDs in my vent, I installed it a little lower so it wont distract me much. I installed one LED in each vent, and installed it a little lower right after the curve so that it doesn't blind me

My buddies at the shop has an xB with LEDs installed in their vent. The way they set theirs up, they used three LEDs in each vent and installed it lower so that it's bright enough to show but not shining directly in the eye.

autopainter13, where did you get the face gauges installed?
I know they sell kits and what not, but i don't want to install it myself. don't have much time and don't want to screw things up..X) it looks nice, i want it on my xA

Thanks for the replies everyone.
So when you say past the curve.... so when it starts curving downward? How many did you guys use? I dont see just 1 LED mounted on the curve doing the trick.

Feedback?

you need about three LEDs
basically when it starts curving downwards you drill a small hole there and mount three LEDs facing out the vent. It'll do the trick. thats what my buddy's xB was set up as

for mine, I used one, but with the right angle on the A/C vent, it never got in my eye..i'm not sure exactly where i mounted it, but i got lucky cuz it's bright enough that you can see it from the outside, but it doesn't get in my eyes

did it myself, real easy. just a couple of wires and the guage face just replaces the factory one

I took apart my dash on my xA for the first time last night and I'd like to put in LEDs in the vents. Is there a tutorial on how to do it? How do you get the LEDs in there? Do you have to drill a hole in the vent tube somewhere and thread the LED up in it or something? I looked in the tech section but didn't see a tutorial.

Thats what I gather. That's what I did. What I'm trying to figure out is the best placement for the LED itself. I mounted mine too close to the front I think. I looks cool, but I can actually see the bulb when i'm driving. That's why I started this thread.

If you don't want to move the buld, you could install a shield in front of the LED... just a little bigger than the bulb so it wont distract the overall look.
