Default Nasty highway accident

I got into an accident getting off of the highway Saturday night in a busy area. Some van 3 cars ahead stopped suddenly without brake lights. The car isn't drivable, but I wasn't cited because the police said the get as many as 3-4 accidents there a night in the summer.

The engine was making sick noises after it happened, but I was only going about 30-35 when I hit the Honda Civic in front of me. The airbags didn't go off. How likely is it that it's totaled? It's a 2005 with just over 16000 miles. I don't want the car to be messed up forever...

pretty good chance they will just total it, im glad to hear your safe though.

I was involved in a very minor accident at about 5-10mph, and this damage was apraised at roughly 2500.00

...and that didnt require a hood, or fenders, or iner fender liners, or any major engine components other than a radiator (from your pics, if ur cars a stick you might need a slave cylinder, regardless of what tranny you have you might need an intake manifold too as its plastic)

best of luck to you regardless...

xA's are obviously expensive to repair. mine has been through 2 accidents, both costing well over $2000 to fix. Once i was driving in the right lane, and the guy next to me hit a deer and it rolled into my line and i drove over it. Then a month later, i was in a parking lot, and some lady decided it was a good time to drive into me going like 30. 30 in a paking lot! and on top of that i was on the way home to put on my exhaust that day too. I was so ____ed.

Sad.... I had the luck of hitting a fickle dog on the interstate at night going 75mph and ended up with $3800 damages.

I don't think the damage is enough to total, looks like it hit very minimaly on bumper and most is in center so not frame damage, good luck and double check the plastic fastners they use if they repair. Think of it this way, no more rock chips on hood/bumper!!!
Again, sorry and good luck
Keep us updated friend.....

I'm still waiting to hear back. The car isn't drivable, since the engine was pushed back a little bit and the radiator was smashed into it.

Looks like we've all has some crazy experiences with our xAs...
