Hi guys, I'm new, located in Japan.
Yesterday, the new IST was released here, and already a "MOdellista" version
is released. I'm thinking of buying this bodykit.

I wish we get the Scion version here....
Is this IST going to be called xD? orXA?

my understanding is that the XA is being done away with completely. The new XD is what i was told is going to be the new version. So i would amagine (although i could be wrong) that it would be an XD.

im new to this as well. Love it though.

 

yea the Xa was done away with in 06, they had a release seris xa last year than that was it. Now that new ist( one picture above) is called the xd here in the states and will be out i think in august. BUt that ist modelista version I saw on toyota.jp and it looks awesome I think.

 

Yep das the new ist and xD. the xD just hot showrooms this week. Cant wait to actually see one in person.

 

eh, Now I don't like it even more now that this new model is the Ist. Ist = xA n besides I thought the new models were US specific only. So where is the new xB being sold?

 

crappy part about the new XD is that its base price for an auto starts at $15900, unlike the XA that started at $14200 for the auto. yes it will have features added that the other didn't in the base price, but thats what i thought a base model was all about.

I've thought about trading in for the new xD but I dont like the gauge panel. I really love the center-top mount cluster Other than that I like everything about the "D" so I'm torn

 

the fog lights are a little high up to my liking ...

 

My recommendation would be to wait it out, take one for a test drive.. and ponder it a bit. Look at it this way, the xD will be out for another 3-4 years.. and as the years roll by they get more refined + it will buy you some time to think if you want to trade in/sell your xA. If you give up your xA (I assume that you bought it new) , then anytime in the future if you want to go back to another xA... you'll be getting someone elses 2nd hand used car. my .02
