I think the discounts are normally for people who have recently graduated college, not just all college students. I could be wrong though.

Um...ya I had no idea about a discount, but I'll go look into it.

SiouxsieSioux, congrats...I'm so jealous.

I'm actually really thinking of just going to buy something else.
Talked to the dealer again. Well turns out the guy "read the screen wrong" and that they "think" it is going to be in port in Friday. HA! So that means its going to be like...I'm guessing two weeks after that only because of the way these guys have been...so I dont know...I dont feel like I'm being appreciated.

I know to them its just a cheap Scion that they wont make much money off of, but for me, its my first brand new car that I'm paying for without momma, and I feel like its like...a right of passage thing or something like that for me. I mean, for me...that 15,000 dollar plus car is super expensive...

Should I give up? Or just wait it out?...

Wait it out!!!! Don't just walk away from something you want. Besides, what other brand has people like us to support you?

I think the main reason I'm a little upset is becuase they told me an actual day. They said August 24th. Now its the 30th, and they dont even know when its going to be in port... If they would have said, "Oh, it will take 4-7 weeks." or something like that...
I'd be ok, but dude gave me an actual day.

The dealer I had did the same thing with me. It got dragged out for 6 weeks. Toyota has a very crappy connection between the supply chain and the dealers. If you feel the dealer is truely lying to you take your business elsewhere. I still don't understand why your dealer isn't trying to locate and do a swap for the exact car you want.

And everytime a call is made to them, the manager just happens to be "out for the day". I know that guy works more then once a week...

I understand about the dates being off a little because of delays and all that. That isn't my beef. My beef is, why give someone an actual date. If it was just being "late" I dont think it would be three or so weeks over the time it was supposed to be there...

I mean, if they didnt know when it would get there...they coulda just said "I dont know" I woulda been much happier with that.

Some dealers have a hard time telling the truth. They tell you that and hope like heck that it comes in on time. It'd be too easy to just say it will be here when it gets here. We'll call you when we get an actual delivery date.

The manager has a boss...ask for him. That might get someone's attention.

I think I might go there if it dont come in soon and say something like, "Give me my deposit back...I'm going to buy a Honda"...I want to see what they say.

Say that, but go to another scion dealer. We don't want to loose you to Honda.

I been lookin at all kinds of cars. None of them really appeals to me the way the xA does. The price is right and all that. I've been looking into buying a new car for around 2 months, and the xA is the one that popped up first, and lasted through the test drives and all that. I guess I just kind of have to wait...

It's always rough during the wait. After the wait you feel dumb because the wait ended up being kind of fun. The anticipation and all the thinking about what you will be doing to it.

How far would you be willing to drive to get your car?

I'm not a salesman, in case you were wondering.

Not really far. I'm in college right now and work everyday except Sunday. I'd have to have someone drive me and I hate asking for rides...lol...so I could let someone drive me really far.

I just checked the dealers section and see that Houston has 4 dealers. Have you called them to see what they have in their inventories? I find it hard to believe that they have nothing that would work for you.

xA's are getting scarce... people are buying up all the regular edition ones before the RS3 comes out and they HAVE to take it.
