Yep, statistically things happen in within 2 miles of home. That's very true. ALWAYS wear your seatbelt when the engine is on.

Insurance point of view: They actually want you to hit what you're trying to avoid when it comes to animals. Animal in the road- not your fault....eff'n up your car so you wouldn't hit said animal: completely YOUR fault

when I was 16 I totalled my VW bug on black ice, I ended up taking out a phone pole (backwards) and put my head through the windshield. I have worn my seatbelt ever since!!

Exactly what I was going to say, we have deer all over where I work and a few guys have hit them on their way to and from the work site, and a buddy had one jump off an embankment in front of him while he was doing 60+, beat up the front of his truck but far from totaling as he would have trying to avoid the deer.

I have been wearing seatbelts any time I am on the road ever since I went airborne at an elevated RR crossing in 1961 in a VW bug. It is difficult to control pedals and steering wheel if one cannot keep his butt stuck to the seat. And strange roads can hold surprises.

To me, it's worth putting the seatbelt on just to stop that annoying beep beep beep beep!
Honestly, I wear it all the time anyhow......need to with the way I drive
