my 2 cents......yep the xA is better off for the older market cause theyre going to drive the vehicle within the "intended" driving practices of its design. the younger market, who the critic is saying shouldnt buy the xA, is going to get the xA, mod the hell out of it. and move the xA into a performance bracket that is NOT reviewed by this site. modded, suspension, tires, sway bar, wheel spacers, intake, headers, exhaust, turbos, chargers, weight reductions, greatly improved aerodynamics from body kits. dude needs to make a review of a modded xA and or xB Vs the younger market. id sa stock will be for the older market as he said. but the modded scions will be balanced with the younger market. so id say hes only half there

That guy is a freakin hack. How much you want to bet he's never set foot in an xA, much less any of the other cars he says he's "reviewed". I read the reviews for the SRT-4 and the new Mustang GT (both cars I've driven) and he, or any of the other "reviewers", can't even touch a sensible review. For pete's sake he complains about the Mustang having a live axle. Also, is it just me who has pushed their xA to the edge and had an excellent experiance? And also, I've seen a stock xA go 16.7 in the quarter mile. What a wanna-be Car and Driver writer.

I like my xA and don't give a rat's what this guy or any other 'expert' writes. I don't read movie reviews or ask waiters what's 'good' either because my taste is different from that of other people. So what do I care what they say? Eff them all. Cheers.

I just read a few more of this a-hole's reviews. What a fool. If only he owned these cars he might actually write some usefull facts and not sophomoric first impressions. What a moron.

He's a F---ing moron!! He liked the Chrysler 300C a lot! I keep telling my dad he's a pimp in that car and everytime he gets annoyed.

LOL--The C’s gang-banger demeanor may shock delicate sensibilities, but its appearance shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Fared a little better? I think it fared alot better, he said, and this is a direct quote: "The xB is a complete package, offering more-than-merely-adequate poke, superb ergonomics and, gulp, fun." what I think is funny is that he said that the xB had 'more-than-merely-adequate poke' but he also said that the xa was underpowered, and here it is again "Although the autobox variant ambles from 0 to 60mph in 10.6 seconds, it feels significantly faster." and when he is done talking about it he gives it a star review that completely goes against what he said, giving it one star in preformance, and in style, both wich he raved about, I believe that we can discount his oppinion and go about our merry ways.

odd... anyone notice that the 0-60 times he lists for the xb are .1 seconds faster than the xA?...

and the one for the xB was for an auto... this cant be right...
unless the car he reviewed was the rs1 and was slowed due to its bigger wheels...

it most likely is, since he talks about the 10 color stereo...

[quote="matt_a"]Oh no! Some guy I've never heard of doesn't like my car! I guess I'd better go sell it now. That's a shame though, because I really like my xA.

HAHAHHA thats a damn good point, dont let ppl tell you what to buy. DRIVE the car 1st and then decide, dont just read on it and decide not to buy it.

And a 17.4 et in quarter mile, thats rediculous, i bet i can drop it into the low 16's easy if i shift perfect

my wheels are fine on speed, but my gas mpg is a little lower, but this thing is still a little toy rocket, and i didnt get the 10 color stereo(its an option that doesnt come with the RS 1.0).

I say who gives a damn about what someone else says about something you enjoy and like. I can tell you that there is alot of stuff out there that I don't like but to the people who do like it, can really careless what anyone thinks of it. And by emailing him saying negative things about how we think his "opinion" is wrong isn't going to accomplish anything, so all in all, enjoy your cars.

well i'm guessing he must have driven an auto... but I'm still having a little trouble believing that an auto xA (even rs1) ran slower than an auto xB... are the wheels that much of a diff?

Given the nature of the site and his bias towards muscle machines, I"m not too surprised about the review.. though I think it was harsher than necessary...
However the disparity between his xB performance comments and xA performance comments is interesting, I wonder what's going on there.

Overall though I like that they trash everything... I'd rather have someone tell me all the bad points of something I'm buying rather than amping it up. B/c if I can live with all the negatives, at least I know what to watch out for and what I'm getting.

Its not so much that he points out the bad stuff, as much as it is that the way he talks makes it sound like he has no clue about anything about cars. For crying out load he thinks the live axel in the Mustang is a bad thing. Seems like a guy who reads alot of Car and Driver type magizines, then tries to write similar reviews on cars he's probably never been in.

Somewhat true, but actually the center console is one of the things I didn't really like about the xA. Unlikr the xB console, I found the xA one hard to look at since it was so far over. I tend to sit forward, so that compounds the problem. The xB's idiot light cluster is in the same place as the xA's and i barely ever notice it... even while the blinkers are on

An opinion is an opinion. Take everything you read in reviews and articles with a grain of salt.

Funny thing is if you do a minute of research on some of the cars he recommends on msn, you'll see that the reviews don't even come close to the xA :D

my guess is that the editor and his family probably all over 400 lbs and the xA having a hard time moving 1600lbs of extra weight (if he has a 4 ppl family)

cuz notice that he saids 5 "slim" adult.

or he might be part of a 5 "overweight" adult family .... rofl

If its 5 ... then its 2K lbs .... thats almost the same weight as xA itself ..... blah
