I'm set to have a non-Scion keyless entry system installed in my 2005 Scion xA today and I have a weird question. If I were to purchase a Scion remote off of ebay could the remote be programmed to work with the non-Scion aftermarket system?

I really like the look of the scion remote, but I did not want to pay nearly $300 for the dealer to install a Scion system.

i would suggest getting an alram while your at it

 

Well, I'm already kind of nervous about circuit city installing this as it is... I didn't want to make things anymore complicated with an alarm. I'm worried about my baby :-( lol

 

I had a reputable place (got references) that deals with tint and alarms put my keyless entry in. Think it was around $150, installed. Also had them set it up where the doors lock automatically when started, and unlock when turned off.

Think going this route would be the best for you... you'd get a better alarm at a lesser price, and a better quality installation.
