My car brings on the coolant temperature indicator blue light every time the ignition switch is on after an overnight parking.
It goes off after a while.

What does it basically mean?

You are gonna get flamed big time for this one. LOL It is the indicator that lets you know the car engine has not warmed up yet...............

That's what the manual say, but should I wait till it goes off before driving?

If yes, it takes a while,
If not, why do they care to install that blue light?

It's just like driving any other car but instead of a temp-o-meter, it's a light. You don't have to wait til your is warmed up. It's definately better for your engine, but you dont' have you. If you drive auto, you'll notice your car doesn't engage OD til it's warmed up. If you drive stick, try sticking to lower gears and higher RPMs to warm up the car quickly. It's nothing really.

car not warmed up fully.. but still okay to drive.. just take it easy until it's fully warm.

I notice that a car has so many useless indicators. The big one is a tachometer. It is so huge, on the dash, but doesn't tell anything I need while driving. Why is it there? I don't know. Same thing with this little blue light.

Yes, give me some, please. I am a newbie here, and have never used the tachometer while driving. When do I need to pay attention to one?

I wish they'd get rid of the fuel gauge personally. Who needs that.

All you really need is a temp and oil pressure meter. You can always keep up with traffic in regards to speed and shift by ear if a stick shift.

If the temp gets too warm or oil pressure too low, damage is already done by time the idiot lights go off.

Well the big ol' Tach was there when you bought it, so I wouldn't have bought if it offends the. Do you know what that stalk on the left side of the steering column is for?
