Default What can I do to make the xA a "smoother" ride?

I have the same standard wheels that I bought the car with . . .

Are any of the features (accessories) that are offered through Scion helpful in dealing w/ making the xA a more comfortable ride? Not that it's bad, but I realize it could be better. TIA!

no scion doesn't offer any thing softer your gonna have to go with aftermarket on this one

you can get the koni sport shocks and struts just a touch on the pricey side

monroe sensa-tracs

You're fabulous, thank you. I can't afford to do anything right now, but maybe in the future, and I just wanted to do some research on it!

Ugh, that's what I hear ;) My bank account would like to disagree though! I've already added the LED lights - so slowly but surely I'm going to add modifications.

Thanks!

Let us know! I'd be curious to see how they work out for you. Thanks

Koni's are a bit expensive. I just put the Monroe Sensa Trac rear shocks and on mine and it made a lot of difference. They were about $75 at Advance Auto. You can get them a little cheaper on line. Maybe $65 or so. Order part #5987 for the Toyota Echo. I will look into the front struts later. Also I would suggest taking your car to an auto upholstry and trim shop. I had the driver's seat padded a little more. Cost about $125 and it makes a big difference. The car has a high frequency vibration that comes from the high reving engine. That is what I felt most and the extra foam in the seats helped that. The shocks take out some of the bumps.

Any body here have experience with Koni Yellows on his/her xA? I put mine on... but it doesn't feel too, TOO much different from stock. I was expecting a lot better because of all the positive comments about it on the forum.

I'm riding on S Techs, by the way.

Does anyone have any input as to whether the progressive rate lowering springs actually smoothed out the ride compared to the linear rate stock rear springs? I'm thinking this could make a big difference, even with the slightly reduced travel.

I've been running KONI yellows in the back for a few months now and love them. I lowered with Hotchkis springs, strut tower bar and rear sway and the ride got stiffer so I added the KONI's. I've got them set on nearly full soft and they have damped the ride noticeably. I'm happy with them.

I'm currently running a coilover setup, but the ride was harsher than I expected so I'll be swapping back to a regular fixed suspension with monroe sensatracs and Tein S techs. I have the parts now and will be installing them on Friday. I'll let you guys know how they feel ^^

Trust DMR Coilovers. Great coilovers, just not great daily drivers.
