Take it to the dealer... that's what the warranty is for!

Hey, punxnotdead you are right...I picked up my car on the 22nd, and I have no problems with where the speedometer is. In fact, I think having it in the center is better in some ways! I don't know why I thought It was going to give me so much trouble and getting used to, but its fine. So all in all I LOVE the xA aside from those other things that I was just surprised that the car didn't come standard with considering how practically everything else is standard. Awesome car though so far.

Its your driving style. At least 99% of it is..

I got my xa for a DD to save wear and tear on my stang.First couple of tanks of gas i thought the same thing.Mind you im a toyota tech and was saying WTF?.

Changed my driving style and gas mileage went up from 25~30 mpg to 40mpg.Just in driving style.Easy take offs never over 70 and just cruise..

38~40 is about the norm now.BUt i do notice at 75~80 it drinks a LOT more gas than at 70.

I agree toyota should have gave it a center arm rest. But for its price range and features its a great car.

The car is growing on me everyday.
Went to the epa website and found out average mileage reported for this car is around 29 mpg, They explain the shortcomings of how they estimate mileage.
Cruise Control needs to be a factory installed option for this car and the armrest would be nice too. But im still liking this car more and more. Whats funny is it looks small outside but seems bigger when sitting in it.

Like white99gt said, it's all in the driving style. I average 38-40 mpg, every tank. I drive the thing pretty conservatively , but have fun sometimes too. One thing is to not go over 65 on the highway. I took it up to 90 once and used a TON of gas. You will get passed a lot going 60 or 65 but you will get much better mileage, and also not get speeding tickets!

too true. I have noticed the lack of an additional highway gear. but realistically I dont think that these cars were made to be going 120 mph on a daily basis.

It's a city car, not a long distance cruiser. That should be obvious given it's origins.

I don't like the xA mirrors, they reflect too much...

15,150 miles, needs to go in for service for fuel issues, power steering issues, and throttle cable adjustment..

Meh, i'm disappointed now. If this all continues I may just trade it in for the Yaris.

door armrests need to be padded, tend to get uncomfortable on real long drives...

a real type tilt wheel, like in my Lightning or my Mustang would be nice

and, more hp would always be nice, but I didn't buy the xA for that... I want fuel ecomomy baby!!! :D

mystery rattles, yeah, annoying, but I have had those in cars costing twice as much...most of the gripes I have read can all be modded pretty inexpensively, and doing those things makes it "your" car...which, after all, is what I was after when I bought this car...I have spent less than 500 bucks, and love the way it's coming out. There is always stuff that'll drive you nuts...but dollar for dollar, for the price, I really can't think of any other car I'd like to have. The xA is a unique, fun car. It's small, low hp, not a ton of pick up, but it'll get you where you want to go in good time...enjoy it, and make it "yours."

I'm glad we're not the only ones with rattle in the back. The xA we have is less than seven days old though, and already the paint horror stories worry me.

Yall might want to check your tag for some of your hatch rattles... Mine was kicking up a real fuss, I was about to take it back to the dealer for them to do something and just happened to find the tag was hitting the body. Put some foam on the tag for starters.

On my xA, which i had for a week now, theres a rattle inthe engine compartment that i hear. the source of that is the (on a stock with no mod on the intake) the stock intake hose has no bolt to hold it down. i still need to find the proper bolt to go in there.
as far as what I dont like is the seats, i need the back support and there is none in my xA

Oh yeah, and whose wise idea was it to have the power point powered to the ignition switch... how's one suppose to charge up your cell phone with the key out of the ignition??

^^Yeah, that is one thing that I really dislike about most cars. I need to re-do mine in order to get that feature, or put another plug in somewhere. Possibly a DIY on the way?

I could go either way on the power adapter turning off when the car is off. For some things (charging mobile phones as you say), it would be better forthe power adapter to stay on.

However, I mostly use my power adapter for my radar detector. For a radar detector, it is better that the power goes off when the car is off.

What would be nice is to have one of each type, or make it configurable.

Default Love it!!

I absolutely love my xA. Took some getting used to while driving. You don't need the extra HP if you follow the speed limits. Paint is beautiful and very glossy. I think I'll just leave mine the way it came.

Drive safely everyone!!
