I went to my regular accessory store today to get some PIAA fogs put in. He put the car on the lift checked out the insert then told me that as much as he'd like to help me, the spot where the fogs go will only fit the Toyota factory fogs

He stated that the insert has some clip area in there that were specifically made and pre wired for the factory fogs. Anything else like PIAAs would be a bit too heavy and could cause "shakage" when the car is riding making the lights go shaky. So he would rather not do it. The factory lights are plastic and lighter.

Anyone else run into something like this? If so, what fogs have you placed without any problems? Thanks!

 

are you talking about the bulbs or the whole housing? because i was just thinking about this today because I'd like to replace the fog lights with some super bright somewhat bluish lights... does anyone know if the fog lights with bluish are against the law?

 

Yeah the entire assembly. The Toyota ones click in, like a snap fit. So it would be a mission to place anything else there. Wanted to see if anyone else has.
