Default Are xA prices really rising?

As much as I love my xA, I'm getting ready to sell it ahead of a big move out of state. I'm surprised to see book values higher than what I paid two years ago.

It's a 2006 Flint Mica with AT and added cruise control and window tint (otherwise all stock). Almost 58K miles, nice and clean with new tires, only minor dings and scratches.

My bank books it at $10,900 retail. KBB and NADA show similar values -- a little lower but still well over $10K. I bought it from a dealer in AZ two years ago for $10K. I'm in NM now.

Could it really be worth more now? What's really a fair price to ask? I've checked Craigslist, but I can't find many others for sale to compare it with. There's just one nearby with 78K miles listed for $9K (private party).

Yaris values also went up. Chalk it up to rising gas prices.

Just bought a '06 in Michigan from a dealer with 66K for $9200.
And yes they are hard to find!
Like everyone else I was looking for the economy.
I had a '99 JDM Toyota Yitz in Ireland and was very happy with it.

I was offered $7,500.00 sight unseen for my 06 xA RS3, I figure the real value of the car is around $10K.

Whats really nice is I almost have it paid off.

The news has reported in the last few days, that in general used car values (late models) are UP !!!!

Good news for you. Its mainly due to peoples credit scores taking a dump, and not being able to go for a new car, or if they do go for a new car the interest is way high, greater then 13%. Also a steady / firm gas price of $3.80-$3.60 depending upon where you live. Remember back at the end of 2008, when Bush was leaving office... gas was $1.75 per gallon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not too long ago. At that time, I spoke with many people in gas stations pulling up in their big SUV, or full size truck, we spoke cars/trucks/transportation, and I recommend they sell their vehicles NOW, while gas was still low/affordable. Not sure how many of them did actually sell, then go for something more fuel effiecent (like the cash for clunkers promotion).

In Feb. 2011 I saw some xA's on Autotrader.com, asking $6000-7000 and they looked fairly clean, good to go. Same sort of vehicles, I checked 6 weeks ago, and they are $9000-10500. Chalk it up to the car market as a whole, the buying, selling, banks influence, buyers demand, etc. etc.

I drive a Ford Festiva. A car i bought for $675 and it only had 65,000 miles. And last week i had someone offer me $2000 for the car. Anything that gets good gas mileage will always go up in price as the price of gas goes up. Just gotta wait for the right opportunity to sell lol.
