06 xA swap for a 2005 Toyota Corolla XRS 2ZZ-GE curious to know what your guys's ideas r on this?

I have about 5 thousand $$$$$ to spend, I have the guys for labor already (with years of experience in motor swapping, specifically Honda B Series)

seams to be alot of parts out there for that engine.
bigest perk for me would be the 6 speed trans.

make it work man, you might need a bit more than 5 G's but i would think it achevable.
just stick with it, do it right, don't skimp of get cheep on stuff and you will have a nice solid ride.

sounds like a nightmare. you would have to rewire the whole car to get the 2zz to work right.

not the whole car.
you would have to use the ECU for that engine, and you can get a whole new wire harness already wired up for that engine and ECU.
you would (maybe) still have to pigtail a few things in, but nothing hard.

To do this you need custom motor mounts made. The pasenger frame rail needs to be notched to give you clearance for the pulleys. The drivers side frame rail needs to be notched to fit the transmision, then you have to worry about the wiring which would be about difficult as (if not harder than) swapping a K series into a EG without using HonData. Good luck!

I wouldn't doubt it, extracting power from the 1ZZ/2ZZ isn't hard, its making the motor actually fit in our chassis thats the hard part. Me personally, I contemplated the thought, but I don't wan't to sacrifice structural integrity on a car that I drive on a daily basis, don't want to risk getting in an accident and having the motor sit in my lap after the rails give out, now if this was my track car I woulda done it years ago!

If you shave an inch or two of the "frame" rails and reinforce it properly you are not going to have the engine in your lap. You are not modifying the front structure of the car that much.

Have you seen how dinky the frame rails are? It just makes no sense to me to sacrifice any structural integrity on a car that I daily drive, and only race every so often at the track.

if you reinforce it correctly, it could actually be stronger.

I speak as an automotive engineer that has done numerous computer simulations for crash and durability of that area of the car.
