masafina, did yours come with directions? How long did it take to get to you? How much did you have to remove to get this to fit (ie. Bumper cover, wheel well liner, etc)? Is the filter any good? Thanks, Jeff

I remove is the batery just that but for the price is a bang for the buck
just my opinion
Just installed this same setup yesterday. No direction but it was fairly easy to figure out. Not too thrilled with the cone air filter that was included, mine fell apart from the cheap glue used to assemble by the factory. I planned on upgrading the cone anyway. I just mixed up some 2 part epoxy and reattached the filter material to the metal base.
well i think i opted for the short ram for a few reasons, most of them not really based on research. the short ram was cheaper. It was easier to install, it was soo close to where the cai sat that those 2 things were almost enough. then i remembered my friends 3 month old caddy with a cracked engine block (nice new "northstar" one at the time). and that did it for me, keep that air intake out of the water, ill settle for a little bit higher and closer to the engine. that was my research, not too scientific, but then again what more am i going to get out of the half an engine they decided to put in my box =)
I just installed the exact same one on my box this weekend. It didn't come with instructions so I looked into the tech write up for the YDR short ram intake for guidence in removing the stock air box. After I got the stock air box out, installation was pretty streight forward. I did not have to remove my battery nor my front bumper. The brackets used to harness it to the bolt that holds your battery down and the one that is on the bottom of the battery platform don't exactly fit. The kit comes with these two rubber stops that have 10mm bolts coming out of each end. Once you screw them in and attempt to secure the CAI brackets to them, the bolts rip streight out of the rubber stops so pretty much they only serve as stops instead of a useful way to secure the CAI. No fear though, because the tight fit of the hoses and limited space in the engine compartment keep the thing perfectly snug with no vibration sounds.
I've been driving with it for 3 days now and I definantly notice improved throttle response, extended range in RPM's, and faster top end accelleration. It's a nice enhancement to the Magnaflow exhaust I already have. I highly recommend this bolt on mod to anyone. Sure this CAI is not a brand name, but I think someone would be hard pressed to prove to me that by spending $150.00 more on a brand name CAI that I would see a huge difference in performance. I roll with this one for now and only if I have problems will I install and Injen CAI. I say go for it, you won't be dissappointed.

The YDR intake has a K&N filter -- doesn't get any more proven than that.
However, the eBay intakes, most of which don't have decent filters, often don't flow as well or filter as well as as K&N.

yes that is wut i meant sushiboy...the filters dont make too huge of a difference performance wise...i've seen a generic filter vs a k&N and there is better flow in the long run most likely but by a dyno theres no much of a diffrence in whp .25-1hp... but if you get some heat under the hood its good to have a quality filter that can take the heat
