Can a P0010 code cause the vsc/trac control/check engine light to stay on?
I cant get these lights to stay off, even after I run my reader and erase them...they come right back on! However the only code its showing is P0010.
I have a 2005 xb.
This car has been sitting dead under a tree for almost six years. I drained the tank completely, taking out the sending unit to have a look into it, getting out every drop of old gas out and making sure the float and sock were good. Everything still looked new. The tank was spotless. After that, I check the air filter and hoses to make sure nothing had crawled in there. The filter was good and everything was clear. I then completely flushed the radiator and engine and put new fluid in. Heres the bad part. The car was driven hard and the oil changes didnt happen as often as they should. I drained all the oil out, put a new filter on...but before I put the plug back in, I stuck my finger in there to feel around a bit...when I did this, I felt sludge and I must have done something because it started coming out...it was nasty stuff. I got a q-tip and started moving it around in there and it just kept coming and coming out. I did this for over an hour...finally when I felt like I got it all, I let it drip dry over night. I came out the next morning and did the q-tip thing again...and MORE came out....sludge. Again, when I got all I could get, I plugged it up. I couldnt believe how much had come out. I seriously thought about dropping the oil pan to clean it out, probably should have, but was told oil treatment and oil honey would clear up any sludge that remained. My intention was to let the car run for a bit, cycle for a few hours and drain it again and refill with new. Anyway, I put new oil and treatment in it, checked all the fluids, made sure the air filter trap was closed right ect, and then I hooked up my jumper because the battery was dead of course...turned the car over with out gas 5 or 6 times to let the oil cycle...then added the new gas and gas treatment...yes I put the gas cap back on good and tight, then I cranked it one or two times letting the fuel cycle and get to the engine, AND IT FIRED RIGHT UP!!! ...it didnt spudder, spit, stall or anything! I knew it was gonna crank, but not that fast...it ran and sounded just as good as the day it was parked...like nothing happened. Im still a bit shocked. The car sat for SIX years, never being cranked or turned over. Awesome!
Anyway, yea...I cant get these lights to stay off after erasing them. Like I said, my code reader is throwing a code of P0010, which can be caused by something as simple as dirty oil among other things obviously...but can this cause my vsc/trac/check engines lights to stay on?
I love this car so much! I just cant part with it.
I gotta get this thing fixed! I got so much more work to do to it, but if I cant get it running right...well I dont know...
Any help would be appreciated.
I think Ive tried and checked everything.
So if you have any suggestions I'd appreciate it!

Heres another article thats a bit better:
https://www.carparts.com/blog/p0010-...ircuit-bank-1/
...if you dont feel like checking it out, it basically says:
"Contaminated engine oil obstructing the VVT solenoid screen; NOTE: This is a common occurrence! Regular OEM specified oil change intervals using exactly the right kind of oil and always allowing the engine to reach operating temperature on every start will reduce the probability of the sludge that causes this."

We used to have a member here who swore that dirty oil caused DTC's in his xB and simply changing the oil fixed the problem. He also had some totally off the wall maintenance procedures use swore by too.
