Default Changing out clutch. What to change?

I want to change out my clutch to something with a little more clamp, possibly the TRD.

What else whould be changed out, ie throw out bearing, release fork, flywheel etc
or what comes with the TRD clutch

when changing this thru toyota (I know its pricey but at least under warranty) will they resurface the flywheel?

if you get a new clutch everything needed will come with it. Toyota will not resurface the flywheel to the best of my knowlage. if your flywheel is really worn, they will tell you to replace it. the trd clutch is the factory clutch, with a heavier spring FYI the clutch surface is the same and will wear just as fast. there are better ones out there, plus, i don't know how much you can expect toyota to warrenty the clutch, as you wear it each time you push/release the pedal. They will warrenty the installation though. if there is a problem with the install you are covered, most shops will warrenty the work as well.. but clutches are easy to change out, personally i would be more concearned with the clutch wear and not the install itself..

"everything needed will come with it" like what for example?

how much would it be to resuraface a flywheel with toyota or get a new one if this one is not properly balanced, since I think that might be a root of one of my problems, (thus changing out clutch etc.)

Of course toyota is going to warranty the clutch and the work. They arent going to put a peice of ____ clutch in my car and expect me to pay for a new one.

a clutch is a wear and tear item, like brakes and tires. now, there is an implied warranty on items like these, in so much as they should last for a certain amount of time, like you put 4 new tires on your car, pull out of the dealership and one immediately blows out.

now, theoretically, a clutch should last the life of the car, BUT that doesn't seem to happen because of personal driving habits and what not.

i had a yota dealership quote me on labor for a clutch... it was like $470, you are better off getting an aftermarket clutch like a spec and then going to a tranny specialty shop...

I want to keep this as oem feeling as I could

while my clutch is being changed out they should inspect the fork, TO bearing and flywheel right?

does a new TO bearing and fork come with a new clutch?

how do you like your stage 2? mine has been sitting in my garage for the past 9 months, i just haven't gotten around to installing it... and winter sucks and the weather is nasty, so that doesn't help any... maybe the end of this month...

I replaced my clutch less than a year ago and I recomend the Spec Stage 2 also. Good, consistent pedal feel, and is very streetable.

I recomend replacing the T/O bearing, inspect pivot ball & fork (replace if necessary) resurfacing the flywheel, and replacing the flywheel bolts (They come with Locktite coated threads so it doesn't eventually come loose, and they're 12 point bolts which are not fun to deal with when they're old, so replace them). Don't do a half @$$ed job on a clutch job, its a costly job so might as well get it done right the first time.

the spec 2 clutch is very nice. On my turbo charged xA it doesn't miss a beat. I can throw that tranny into gear and let go of that clutch and the car is GONE!! Very grabby very grabby, alot more that i thought it would be. Works GREAT!!

don't waste your money on toyota. i am running a clutchmasters stage 3. it's got some serious bit over stock. 170% holding capacity over stock. it makes a huge difference. get an aluminum flywheel too. i didn't and they charged $50 bucks to resurface the stock one. shouldn't cost extra labor since everything is already taken apart.

never heard of competition. stage 4 is nice, but very aggressive and may not be the best for street. plenty of clutch companies out there, just do your research. i talked to a few tuners and shops independently and all of them recommended clutchmasters.
