Default Chip for the xb/xa

Does any one know if there are any companies out there that make chips for our motors? I heard that Jet is supposed to come out with one?

there are no chips or tuning or any kind of engine management upgrade for scions that work, or are worth the money.

the crap on ebay is garbage and won't d a thing.

tuning with a piggyback is pointless without some kind of forced induction application. the dollar to hp ratio would be pathetic.

your not going to find anything because there isn't anything.

there isn't any hidden protential in scion engines that can simply be unleashed with a stupid gameboy cartridge sized computer chip plug in!

there is no cheap power boost for these engines. if you want to make some extra power, get a greddy emanage ultimate, have it tuned and you can net an whopping extra 5 whp!

if you want to make real power with engines like these, you need forced induction.

these engines aren't new, they have been under the hood of toyota echos and camry's for years, not much mystery to them.

the chips you guys are thinking of only really work on big turbo diesel engines where they turn up the boost and adjust the air fuel ratios. stop wasting your time looking for a scam computer chip.

of if you want, i'll sell you my old gameboy gameshark, and put TRD PERFORMANCE CHIP on it and you can tell me how much more power it has given your little boxes!

seriously, back when i had an explorer, i spent a couple hundred on a JET computer chip upgrade for my explorer, IT DID pause for dramatic effect NOTHING!

As mentioned above, ebay chips are crap, they are nothing but resistors that does nothing..
If you really want a "chip", get "unichip" of course it doesnt work alone, go FI..

I feel like a box owner's perspective needs to be presented... Drax is right guys... did you all forget what car you bought? You can spend some cash doing I/H/E/P and have a bit of a jump, but unless you go F/I you're not going to get miracles out of this thing.

Automatic drivers, try switching off the Traction Control, you'll have a more immediate throttle response. Not to mention it's more fun to drive.

oh man, i met one guy at my college with an 05 scion tc, auto, he told me it had a super chip on it and he dyno'ed 215 whp. it took every ounce of self control to not laugh at his face and tell him he's been lied to.

the only problem with mine is it was given to me and i would have preferred a stick, but no luck finding one at a dealer around here with the new ones out and all. Also i'm only 17 and don't have the cash to the F/I route.

well, hold on to it, keep the mileage down and trade it in for a manual.

when i was talkin bout someone needed to make a chip, i meant something that keeps the ecu from retardin everything when we go f/i, and becuase isnt their some car in japan that has our mototr thets getin like 140 hp? i coulda sworn i saw that in another thread. wouldnt that be due to the ecu?

as far as i remember seein in the post thats what it was, but maybe i was just tired lol, 140 or so wheel hp, but our mototr was revised a lil for this car wasnt it, like the crank is a few degrees of dead center so even if the pistons are tdc theres still angle in the rod right, weakening their integrity yada ya blah blah lol. if im wrong my bad, im not very set on this just remember hearin it

I assumed the traction control wouldn't even come into play unless traction is lost and wheelspin is incurred, thereby activating the TC system. Are you saying that the traction control system lessens the response of the engine even when traction has not been lost?
