Default Clutch getting weaker???

Hello. Great forum.

2006 xA with about 5k miles on her. I have been noticing a growl coming out of the front left area while accellerating in all the gears at 2000 rpm. Lasts until 2300-2400 rpm.

Now the clutch seems to only grab at the top 1" of clutch travel and it releases at the first 1" of push travel.

Does this seem right? Any ideas? And no, really, its not my technique or abuse. I get 40mpg routinely.

THANKS!
