Maybe, if we are lucky, a little ecu tuning may even give another 5.
Too bad it doesn't work that way. You can't assume that the 5 hp you get from the intake is going to just add in to the header and exhaust combo. You may actually lose hp.
In part, you are correct. I have tested this back and forth on the dyno with my s2000. Adding mods together does not equate to a summation of their parts. Which is why some parts work better with others.

What is true though, is that all the testing all the manufacturers have done are with the ____ty stock midpipe. I am sure replacing the midpipe alone will yield 3-5 WHP regardless of what other mods are on the car acorss the RPM band

Just got off the phone with DC sports again. here's the latest..

Headers will be available mid Jan. Suggested retail price for them is 329.. I'm already working on a group buy for that. But that's top secret stuff..Dyno numbers were 5-6 WHP gain.

They also just released the Axel back exhaust for the xB and xA. Dyno'd a 4.8 WHP gain. The power difference between a full cat back and axel was VERY SMALL, i'm guessing around .2-.5 whp so that's the reason why everyone is doing a axel back. Thy only company as of right now that is releasing a full cat back is injen. MSRP on the cat back is 389 + tax. I can get these right now for 329 +shipping.

And thats it until later this month..lol

Sorry dood, but that is ABOSULUTELY INCORRECT. The only reason they are not offering a cat back system is because of the design of the mid-pipe. The car is OBDII which means you cannot legally alter the emissions system of the car. The midpipe on the scions are all one piece housing the catalytic converter in them.

So if they told you that the reason they didnt go cat back was because they didnt see any gains tell them to shove it, because its total crap.

There is no need to flame the messenger. I simply got off the phone and relayed the entire messege he told me. If you wanna share you information, be my guest. Just don't come at me like I'm the one that designed and manufactured it.

Then how can somebody have a "Manifold-Back" System, I'm assuming the means Exhaust manifold(Header) out the back have been changed or inlarged?

Also, Is it possible to run a test pipe (NO Cat.)?*

(Disclaimer= for racing/off-road purposes)<-My C.Y.A.

Manifold back is just like it says..manifold back. it replaces everything...and yes you can swap out the cat and make a test pipe. or bigger cat or whatever.

What about the O2 sensor? or is the bung on the Exhaust Manifold or Header?

cuz I'd like to do this system:
DC Sports Header
2.5" Custom midpipe w/ test pipe
DC Sport Muffler.

What other conciderations should be taken?

Thanks,
Dave

The axel back..has a flange that connects to the stock mid pipe at the same size... so lets the the connector is 1 1/2 inch. and the actual piping is 2 1/2 or whatever. if you get a mid pipe you still have a restriction there... typically the o2 bung is after the cat. i havent seen the underside of the pipe. STYLIS should know. If you're going to have a cust mid pipe, you better off doing a complete manifold back. TRUST ME on that. Ask stylis he makes the most power...lol
