Default ......YDR will return to E-BAY....

I used the e-mail address given to me above. I wrote the guy because the E-BAY ad had ended. He wrote back, I paypal'ed $85 and it was air shipped to IAD. Great pipe and (K&N) filter combo.
He will be re-listing this product on E-BAY again. If you do not want to wait,

Default YDR Intake...

Ok this wasnt supposed to come out as a reply, but same difference... I dont think i saw it..but does anyone know if the YDR system is California CARB legal? I had a friend get popped by the "special division" cops for illegal street racing, and unlawful mods...one of which was his CAI..no carb legal sticker, exhibition of power and speed.....(anyone really think our TOASTERS are aerodynamic racers....Dear God..I love La Habra/Whittier cops...right up there with BP

kinda bringing back an older thread. but what my friend does is have the carb sticker made at a vinyl cutter. any of the vinyl guys ive ever met say if you bring them in the picture they can get it made. just a thought.

I would much rather get caught with an intake that does not have a CARB EO number than get caught with a fake one. Not only would you get nailed with all of the initial fines, but you would also have exponentially higher fines for counterfeiting the CARB document. I don't like the sound of fraud charges. And to forge government documents? You and your vinyl shop could very quickly be looking at jail time instead of a few heavy fines.

Default ....O.K.....L bracket...

Yes, there is a kinky way that that snaps on. As I recall, I had to fiddle with it to get it off. It does snap on with some force. I will have to take a gandor at mine to recall the exact methodology.
It has to do with the sides clipping onto the bracket.... fiddle with it some more.

I have a question, I have a leftover part, a bypass valve? It is black, tubular. 1 Inch and then a 90 degree angle and 1 more inch of tubing.
Does this go into the K&N filter?
Is there a hole in the bottom of my filter that is letting in unfiltered air?

yeah i have that too. it came with the filter. I dont believe we need it since there is no where to put it. I will mess with the L bracket some more but i may just zip tie it for now.

well i zip tied it so it should be all good. the only thing im concered with now is the vsv wires from the L bracket, jut becuase its a stretch from there to the air sensor. has anyone midified there's so the wires arent bending so much?

Default ...No worries, mate...

Once you have secured the bottom of the L bracket, you can bend the L bracket and twist it so that the sensor is in the center of the distance between hosees. Sounds complicated, simply bend bracket to center sensor.
Here are some close-up photos of that thing. A nylon tie might do the trick as well.

Above, I have moved the sensor sideways.

Last photo shows the tabs on either side of the L bracket. They can be bent around the bracket if you want to do that.
(Save any extra parts)

cool. thanks for the tip and pics. i bent the L bracket inward so it wasn't touching any other wires. It gave the harness to the mass air sensor a little more slack too. I still left a zip tire just for confort.

what i did to teh wires, is cut the OEM zip tie that was on it. it and unwrapped the crappy heatshrink tube (whatever it is) until i had extra slack, this seperates the wires going in two directions into 2 sets. wire loom both the sets so they look oem again. or electrical tape it. then you can have as much slack in the wires as you need. i gave myself an extra inch, but i have the Cold air intake and couldnt bend the L bracket (it was welded onto my intake).

Default ...WHERE YDR?

I still have not seen these re-posted on E-BAY.
Look at the posts in page one and e-mail the guy with the e-mail link.

On July 4, 2006, I installed the YDR intake with K&N found on Scionlife. After 4 tanks of gas, I can say that it has made great improvements to my xB. I have better response, a little more mojo, and a slight improvement in mpg. While the mpg has not been raised dramatically, it has not fallen below where I am use to it being and I have been able to drive about 5mph faster and maintain that 36mpg average.

First tank full 35.9
Second 36.1
third 35.5 (very hot here in the south 100+ 3+ days)
fourth 37.3 (slowed down to 65mph)

I really like the intake and it does sound OH SO GOOD when you open up the throttle!!!! No CEL problems at all.

If you are looking for a less expensive intake, this one is the one.

Im not sure where the whole $85 dollar thing came from. Maybe the price has come down on these but I just received mine today. Got it on ebay for $35 shipped. I thought it sounded like a good deal at the time, now I know it was. I find the guys ebay store and post a link. I think his site said he had another 25 or so left if anyone is still looking.

Default ....Hawdware?

^^Was that a YDR? Many low cost pipes are on E-BAY.
Most do not include all of the hardware you will need for a sweet install as seen above.

How about a link to what you got there BHATField99!!
