Engine code 12. retard timing

Hi all,

I am now getting the code 12 and my book says that it is a problem with the timing.
any ideas as i would like to get rid of the three amigos.

sounds like it has to deal with your VVT timing gear...

I have an appointment tomorrow.
the only thing is that yesterday afternoon it cleared the lights and has not come back on yet.

i only have a few more thousand miles until it is not covered.

HEY!!
My engine threw the same code, it was P0012 I believe. The ECU was reset and the light nor the code has come back on. But let me know the mechanics say about it.
