Default Exhaust Tip

I need a some input here.
I have a 2006 xB and my family just purchased a American 3X exhaust tip for me for Christmas. It is snowing here but I went out to see what is involved in taking off the stock tip. I located two tabs and what looks like a tab inside the pipe.
Is there any trick or any technique in taking the old tip off and installing the new one? I did see where it was advised that I purchase some upgraded bolts for the clamps but other than that I did not see any other things that might hang me up.
Please let me know if any of you have had any experience with this type of exhaust tip and if I need any other special tools to complete the install.
Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas!

The stock tip is relatively easy to get off. A small hand sledge, around two lbs and a stout screw driver or wedge. There are just a few tack welds that are easily knocked off, always going from the front towards the back, and your pretty much done.

Default Exhaust tip

I just finished the installation of my American Racing 3X tip. It looks great, sounds very similar to stock, and took about an hour to install. Thanks to all of you out there that offered their input.

i was in the same position as you. ill start with saying that once you remove the oem tip, theres no going back. you need to pretty much rip that thing off.

now for the tip, i got a tip you can get at kragen for around 20-30 bucks that has a resonater in it and it actually did make a small difference in noise. it now has a some what "throaty sound to it. nothing compared to an exhause tho.
