High-performance, oiled air filter
You talking about the TRD one K&N makes? Either way, the overall only good reason to get it is because you can just clean it out yourself instead of buying a new paper one for I think around $15 every however many months. In other words you'll save money over the long run, but probably no performance.
aFe actually makes the TRD filter, not K&N.
I just received my aFe Dry Flow S filter for my xB (direct drop in). The construction is top quality and since it is the dry model, no oiling needed when cleaning. Just tap the debris out, and then soak and agitate in a simple cleaning solution. Let dry and good to go!
I had the TRD filter but returned it after a day or so. I didn't like risk of having an oiled filter and the risk of it messing with the MAF sensor. So the pro dry is the perfect solution.
No comments yet on how it performs as I just put it in today, but the construction of the filter is amazing. Pure quality!

Blitz also makes a drop in non-oiled filter filter as well.
