i was looking at getting the Injen RD2105 Intake, which is the cai. i was wondering how low does the pipe go? does anyone have a pic installed where i can see where it gets air from??? i am just wondering??? also any complaints on this one. please be advised i did read the cai write up i am just looking for a bit more info. thanks

 

This CAI goes down into the drivers side cavity right behind your factory fog light cover. As to how low it sit' s, it looks like it sits atleast 6 inches down into the cavity if not more. There could be a possiblity of it sucking water in if you go through a large/deep enough puddle. It does have the option to make it a short ram intake also. In all honesty save yourself some money and go with the Injen short ram, it will give you almost if not the same gains and there would be no worries about sucking water into the engine and hydrolocking the engine.

 

does it still sound mean? i am looking for something with a nice deep growl. The gains are pretty close?

o ya... idont know if its me or my foot or what but...the night i installed my intake i went for a drive and i could feel it real nice... but now it seems to have gone away i cant believe it, slower speed, pedal response, less power.. but can not say this for sure cause i have no way to measure this as i ddint dyno it or nothing but ya could it be how everyone says its the ecu.

 

Yes the intake will give you a nice growl, add an axle back exhaust and the whole car will give you a some great sound.

Just to give you an example of what an intake and exhaust will give you sound wise here is two vid's for you, some of the sound you hear is the intake.
