Default Interest on Intake Manifold for the 1st gen xB and xA

As some of you might know, Richard Holdener from Dynatek is currently working along with the Yaris comunity on the development of an Intake Manifold.

Actually the development has been done and they are close to start working on the first production unit of that manifold. They estimate that by the end of Nov the first units of the manifold will be ready.

The Yaris manifold is NOT an exact swap for a xB/xA as the throttle bodies are slighlty different.

Richard has asked me to post the following information in order to gauge the interest from the 1st gen xB/xA owners. If there is enough interest he will look into a the possibility of making an adapter that could enable you guys to use the Yaris manifold.

The price for the Yaris unit will be $699.

Information from Richard Holdener:

"These are the dyno results of the new intake design tested on an 08 Yaris hatch. We eventually made 120 wheel hp in NA trim with additional mods, but we hope to get this intake to fit the early Xb with the necessary throttle body adapter plate. Once the Yaris production intake is finished, I wll be looking for a test vehicle to see if the intake can be made to work on the early Xb. "

wow!! that's very nice i can't wait to see when they have one out for the xb... i hope they will make a carbon fiber one that would be the best. but for now watching and waiting, i would pay $700 to get a gain like that y not. ;)

There are no pics yet. The numbers on that dyno were obtained with a prototy that does not reflect what the final unit will look like.

Richard is about to start working on the first production piece. When is ready, pictures, video and more dyno sheets will be posted. A memeber of Yarisworld will submit his car for the testing.

You can see more details on the intake on the yarisworld thread posted above.

The intention of this thread is to gauge interest... REAL interest.

Depending on the interest Richard will determine if he invest some time developing the adapter plate to fit the Yaris intake into your cars.

So if your have serious interest, meaning that you will buy one when available on a few weeks, then post your interest here.

The unit will be made out of brush alum.

What upgrades does the test car have? Whats the ID on the Yaris throttle body? I might be intrested, I'm not yet sold. The numbers look great, but you did mention the test car wasnt stock. Would it be possible to convince you guys to make one for the xB specifically? I would be willing to loan you my car to test it out. I even have a spare intake Mani. you could use. :D

'bout time. I saw a test somewhere of an XD manifold that added serious power too and man I wanted that-now maybe for my car?

I am super excited!!!!!

As far as i understand it´s a guaranteed 13WHP gain on a stock Yaris (or Xb-XA if they make it fit) and they got to 120whp! with the additional bolt ons (I'm guessing a CAI and Exhaust upgrade at least)

This is the part that was missing, jump in and help out Xb owners!

I'm glad to see that the N/A options are becoming more robust. Those are some nice gains. Between this, and the Gude stuff posted a little while ago, reliable power isn't that far off.

Now this is something i'm interested in. A simple bolt on that produces real power without killing your engine. Nice.

We will get in touch with a member that has a early Xb as soon as we have the Yaris version completed.

I could be wrong, but, doesn't the Yaris Throttle Body mount at a different angle? I could have sworn that the Yaris TB sits at an angle where its pointing slightly upwards. If so wouldn't that be an issue when attaching an intake (stock or aftermarket) onto this manifold when installed into an xA/xB? You would end up having to modify the manifold, if I am right.

We have not looked at the Xb intake compared to the Yaris-it maybe more involved than a simple adapter plate, but if there is sufficient interest, we will make it work with similar power gains as the yaris application.

Well, of you want, I have a spare intake mani. from an xB. I could send you pics, measurements, or the manifold itself to you. You could make the prototype from that, then all you'd have to do is test fit? Correct? Let me know if there's anything I can do to help make this happen.

How different from stock are the runners/plenum? Where are you located? And how long would you need the car for?
