Default Jammed gearbox 1st Gen..

Looking into buying a 1st Gen, 5-Spd manual, but seller states that it won't go into first gear because of a jam in the interior gear box.
I've been looking on forums and on YouTube to try and see what it'll be like trying to fix, but can't find anything.
Any help, advice, links would be appreciated

See if they'll knock $200 off the price and that should cover any work the shifter might need as far as failed plastic pieces or bushings. If there's more to it and there's actual transmission issues with the car I'd walk from it unless you can find another tranny and replace it relatively cheap.

See if he'll let you take the car to an independent mechanic for an inspection on your dime.

What exactly is a "plastic gear box?"

I can only imagine that's bad car dealer speak for saying the shift mechanism in the center console is screwed-up...or so they want to lead you to believe.

Second gear starts would get rally old.

could the plastic gear box be the shifter housing/mechanism?

I sure hope so. Even my slot cars don't have plastic gear boxes. Dumb car dealers!

And second gear starts will finish off the clutch pretty quickly too.

The car is still listed for sale and up to $1500 now!

I was thinking about taking a look at it. Its missing the rear lower lip too.
