I installed a K&N last weekend and felt a bit of difference. I has more power in the 3-5k range. But when I really noticed it was when we had a cool down one evening and it was getting some cool air. I got mine for 150 bucks so it is worth it for me. I also have a 05' and so far no problems. It did solve my awful vibration from my stock air box. Even my dash stopped buzzing. So that is worth the money alone!

next time dont be a d*ck about things
Have the stock unit measured for flow vs AM.. Only way to show differences between units
dude you really are just trying to be a a**hole arnt you? i understand your prob. to proud to admit your wrong.....how are you gonna argue that a smooth mandrel bent pipe with essentially one 90* bend that is larger in diamiter wont flow better than a tiny plastic tube with so many ripples and also does a loop from the air box to the TB.....dude get off it you change your point when someone else proves you wrong first it was " it wont flow any more than the stock intake" then it was" the TB is too small" you know damn well that if you flow the stock with all OEM parts including the OEM paper filter VS. a K&N cold air itll blow the stock unit away so why argue it?....also by you error margin where do you get this 5% error fact from id like to know or see where this is stated by the dyno manu. but even then saying the intake dynod made 6hp ...minus the 5% error possiblity it would still be 5.7hp......STILL A INPROVMENT!
I think he means 5% margin of error of the total HP registered on the dyno, meaning it could be reading anywhere from 2.5% higher to 2.5% lower than what you actually have.
Still, numbers don't always tell the whole story, and how can what devious described NOT work better, on at least some level?

The K & N short ram pulls air from behind and below the left fog light. The AEM pulls air from roughly the same area but thew air winds through significantly more pipe that is wound next to the engine. Wonder which air is actually cooler?
k&n doesnt make a short ram.....short ram would place it the filter under the hood sucking in all the nice warm air....by placing it in the fender it is esentially getting a cold air charge by being shielded away from engine heat.....i know that in the xa the filter is right behind the fendewell shroud way lower to the ground and i know d*mn well thats colder air than in the engine bay....im thinking of getting a bypass and installing it getting a slight bit more distance on it
