Default looking for a new clutch.

yeaaa i shot and burned my stock. now i need a new clutch, pressure plate and lighten flywheel. there's so much stages and such. but i don't think i need any higher than stage three since i don't own a force induction setup yet. so what brand and stage should i go and what brand. i was kind of interested in the clutch master kevlar 4 puck disc. or is that too much for a box with I/H/E, full piping, spark plugs and wiring? i was also thinking of the fidanza lighten flywheel. so what you guys think, give me a heads up. thanks.

My clutch started slipping so I've been researching this a lot lately. Anything above a Stage 1 is overkill unless you are boosted. A puck type clutch will make driving miserable.

I'm most likely going with either Clutch Masters or Exedy with the Fidanza flywheel.

yea i know it's over kill. just hate the the slipping when i down shift, i need something thats going to grab without mercy. so maybe instead of a 4 puck, i think a kevlar 6 puck should be good. i don't mind a little hassel with missery.

I know Darren (Hotbox05) really likes his Spec Stage 2+. And everyone on here that has replaced their clutch with anything but stock or TRD has said to spend the money on a set of steel braided clutch lines as well.

and my spec stage 2+ is full face on one side and 6 puck on the other. best of both worlds.

I as well an running the Spec Stage 2, its full face kevlar, if not im not mistaken. Its works great and im not forced induction, yet.... I would definately recommened this clutch as an upgrade it works well and wont kill your knee.

Im soon going to be purchasing a Fidanza lightweight flywheel, because i heard they are really good and that loss in rotational mass really helps our little engines out.

My local Pep Boys quoted $575 for the job and a local performance shop quoted $540. BTW, I only call Pep Bpys too compare prices. I don't think I'd trust them to do the job. So yeah, with parts you are looking at a grand.

BTW, I got a great price for Clutch Master parts from JSC Speed.

really? it cost about that much to get it installed? doesn't look that hard. before i go to a shop i might ask some of my honda friends and see if they can help.

ALSO has anyone here done a clutch and fly wheel job themselves. if so can you help. I love working on mechanical things and like to save money.

but i know theres risks. its a win and lose thing.
"do it myself and save money at the same time risk damaging thing "IF" installed wrong."
"but take it to a shop, done right and can take it back if there's a problem, but spend half a grand that i could be using for something else."

Just had a EXEDY Stage 1 installed today. Got clutch off ebay $250 + install @ local shop $380 = $630 not bad I think. I like the feel a bit stiffer than stock but not bad (actually feels like I'm pushing a clutch now). didn't go any higher in stage cause I only have I/H/E and Perrin Pulley and no thoughts of going FI.
