Default M2 header on stock muffler, how loud?

Hi all,

I'd like to put the monster motorworks header in, but I'm concerned about noise, anyone have one of these on a stock muffler (xA/xB).

Thx,

Header and Exhaust should be fine. You won't have that nasty rasp unless you remove the resonator.

Good to know, thanks! 10hp would make a big difference, if what they're claiming is true..

Zero noise. I had that combo on the stock muffler for a while and there's no difference.

10HP is a generous estimate. It's worth it, but you're not going to see +10.

Thanks good to know. I had a 2-pass muffler on there before which was very similar to the Tanabe medallion muffler, it wasn't too bad but got annoying on long trips, I kept the exhaust tip and put the stock muffler back on. Bad thing is, the way xA's are set up, there's zero room for additional straight-through glasspacks if you want to tweak the volume on any aftermarket muffler... but there was a bit of a power gain with the aftermarket muffler.. I'm hoping M2 header + cold air + perrin pulley will give it a bit more oomf..

Yea, the axleback really doesn't do a whole lot for the power. The header will give you that oomf you're looking for.

and soon as you get your exhaust system all set up with your new axle back your exhaust will be a lil louder
