moded xb vs stock Tc who wins?
I was thinking of doing for my next mods the bigger injectors the larger fuel pump and the perrin fuel rails also the greddy software to update for the larger injectors..... what type of performance increase could I expect.....
thanks
thanks
DON'T PUT LARGER INJECTORS!!! I'm running with Celica GT injectors (1ZZ-FE), they make the car run VERY RICH. I had to permanently switch to premium gasoline (93 octane) because regular (87 octane) made the car gurgle and stall in idle. Then i bought a camcon and had to remove gasoline from the mix. Its just TOO much for an N/A car. I think i even made it slower with the injectors alone. The real power difference is in the mid-range, but the low end and high end run way too rich. By the way, i know I'm running rich because i have a wide-band sensor...
Now if your going to go turbo, like me, thats a whole different story. For that, I bought the perrin fuel rail and Celica GTS injectors (2ZZ-GE), for now that should do at 5psi, then when i change pistons and rods, I'm boosting 12 psi and most likely going to run tC injectors. Any other doubt just let me know.
But, DONT BUY THE INJECTORS NOT THE RAIL, its TOO TOO TOO much gasoline.

Yeah, I am assuming you didnt get the car tuned. The maf think it is dealing with the stock injector, and is sending the same signals to the bigger injector. Problem is that means you run rich. If you get it tuned, or a maf setup for that cc~lbs injector, you should be fine.
But still not worth consideration until you are running a power adder, turbo/super/nos

i would like to clear up a little bit on the injectors as far as i know.
again, im not saying anyone is wrong, but im simply sharing my experience.
Stock, obviously the xA/xB are setup for fuel economy, so we run extremely lean. Running upgraded injectors on the 1zzfe is not a bad thing on an na motor. I am personally running a set of the tC injectors (which i believe flow 370) and the tC seats and my car seems to run significantly better with no low or high end sacrifices.
The ECU reads gramps per second to calculate injector pulse. Essentially, the car will pull pulse because it sees more fuel, but since the injectors naturally flow more, you will still be running stoich to the lower portion of the rich margin. I have yet to run extremely ritch unless im pounding on the thing (which in that case, obviously the car is going to dump a ton of fuel).
At first idle will be a little high, but it will correct itself automatically.
Again, this is all simply from my experience with the injectors. The car def. seemed to be more responsive and less laggy in the 2800-3200 range. I have yet to run it at the track again to see if there were any significant gains, but we wil see.
Jsosa, just out of curiosity, did you use the stock 02 sensor for your wideband or did you tap a new one?

I was advised that when you upgrade fuel injectors size you should also re-program Greddy Emanage....I have the greddy and was advised to purchase there software and cable to attach to my laptop to re program the greddy E manage for an up to 50% increase in injector size to maximize performance.
bfurches, your right, the xb/xa are tuned for economy. But it simply needs to be tuned via a wideband and dyno, unless you are surpasing the capacity of the stock injectors, which you shouldnt be without running a turbo or supercharger.
Keeping the stock injectors should be more than capable of dealing with the added duty cycle after a tune if ur running n/a.
putting bigger injector is kinda a shortcut if you will, should give your more bottem, but I wouldnt be suprised if you lost a couple ponies up top because of running to rich.

just gotta figure out how to transfer it ..........Im pumped to see what difference the injectors fuel pump and fuel rails will make I am getting them soon.....also if I decide to later go with the manual transmission.........
i prefer the 5 speed, but dont forget as far as drag racing tuned auto trannys have been pushing the 10 second and beyond for decades, my 68 ran an auto and schooled sticks all day long. supras pushing over 600 at the wheels consisitantly use auto trannys, as well as the ape motors tiburon which is running 10's with a well engineered four banger turbo setup and a auto tranny! fine tuning is the key!
