Default Is My Dipstick Long Enough? 05xB?

But really, I would like t know what is the length of an oil dipstick for an 04 to 06 xB or xA? If you need to know why, read on.......

The last 2 times I had my oil changed at "50-Min Oil Change" it has been overfilled. By a LOT. Each time the oil ended up a full 2 inches over the top maximum mark on the dipstick! I checked it when I got home and drove right back to the place. They apologized and gave me a free oil change coupon. So fast forward about 1 year. I checked my dipstick about 2 months after another oil change, and again it is 2 inches over the max mark! (Like a dummy I forgot to check it immediately after they changed it this time) So now I am remembering that a couple of years ago I had to replace a dipstick but I can not remember if it was for my Scion or maybe one of my family member's cars that I worked on. My dipstick is 21 inches long from the tip to just under the yellow loop handle where the dipstick stops when it is fully seated. Also my min mark is about 7/8 inches high, and 2 inches high for max oil mark.
Thanks for any help.

Is there a part number anywhere on the dipstick that you can see? If so, you could always cross-reference that with the part number off any number of Toyota OEM parts suppliers. The Toyota OEM part number is 15301-21062.

Just measured mine and it's 19 5/16" to the base of the loop, exactly where your picture shows, which explains why it's reading 2" too full.

After looking online and calling the dealer etc and getting nowhere, I decided to just go online and buy a new dipstick for my 05 Scion xB. I assumed that I had the wrong size thanks to your post letting me know that it was suppose to be 19 5/16 based on what you had measured.
I just got the new dipstick a few minutes ago and sure enough I had the wrong dipstick it there a couple of years!!! Probably driving around part ot that time being at least a quart low. I am a detailed person usually, so just blow away about how this could have happened and why it took so long to figure it out.
This is why this old Air Force guy refuses to fly any more unless life or death. lol

Thanks for your help MileHightC Very much appreciated.
