People, don't foget to add insurance to your shipping. This thing get dented easily, because it is poorly packaged. Only one side of the pulley get some air bag protection the other sides relying on low strength cardboard.

i notched it, and added some whiteout to the mark. not balance...but if I need to time it i would of had to put my old pully on.

I have one I will let go for $129.00 shipped. It is brand new all I have done is take it out of the box to look at it. I was going to install it but I just haven't time and I am in need of some money right now. Paypal is preferred. PM me for paypal address. The Perrin Pulley is also listed in the PPC: https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...ghlight=perrin

your stock crank pully has a rubber grommet in the hole of it, this is also known as the harmonic balancer. I used to be a honda owner, and plent of people had problems with this. The main job of the harmonic balancer is to absorb vibration....same concept as liquid filled motor mounts as oppposed to urethane mounts....the only problem is when the vibration isn't being absorbed by the harmonic balancer, guess whats absorbing it.....your motor...you WILL hear a rattle after a while. I've never seen an aftermarket pulley that comes with the rubber grommet, but until i do...no pulleys for me.

Once again, for those of you that have ran urethane motor mounts ever....think about how your car was before the mounts, and after....when you have liquid filled mounts, the mounts absorb all the vibrations, but with urethan mounts, your car and you will feel some good vibrations
I was worried about the after-effects of installing the Perrin pulley as well, so I called up Perrin. The guy I talked to was really friendly and explained a few things I thought I'd share.

In regards to the rubber grommit, he said that the xb/xa engines are internally balanced, so the rubber grommit serves no purpose in that regard. After talking to oem pully manufacturers, they found that the main reason the grommit is there on the oem pully is because of the cost effective manufacturing process. The oem pulleys are cast, not milled. The grommit gives them a lil bit of a fudge factor. As far as any harmonic balancing issues goes, he said the belts would provide more balancing than necessary.

He also said that the Perrin pulley will help your engine to run truer, and you may actually experience longer belt life w/the Perrin pulley.

I'm not trying to start any tech knowledge competition, or any arguments or anything. I just figured I'd share the info that put my fears at ease before I purchased my Perrin pulley. For all I know, what I was told may have just been a sales pitch...if so, it worked!
