Default to the simple addon experienced, need some opinions...

i'm thinking of just throwing down a few to get some simple addons to boost power a bit until i do the real power upgrades. out of personal experience i'm looking to get a good idea of where i would be sitting at if i did the following:

light weight pully *perrin*
CA intake *injen*
4-1 exhaust *dc sports*
Injen SES exhaust
Motegi Trak Lite 17x8's with 40 series *wheel weight of 13.8lbs per wheel*

also was thinking some Perrin hoses for better flow.

thoughts?

Why not the MMW 4-2-1 header? That has a bigger power increase, no?

4-2-1 header *3-4,000+rpm* is more towards the top end while the 4-1 is better for lower end *1,500-2,000rpm to 4-4,500rpm*. more for daily driving enhancements for specific use. i've got a audio *event* project in progress and in order to level out the power to weight ratio when the system is settup, i need to do some simple upgrades to help a bit, the pully will be a big help.

I am pretty sure you have that backwards on the 4-2-1 vs. 4-1 headers. The pulley made a difference for me a lot more than I had expected and its a pretty cheap simple mod. GL with your other purchases/installs

it's all good you just had it backwards. long paths with a merge farther away is hp closer merges are torque.

in other words high rpm hp less bottom end

better bottom end less high rpm hp.

only MMW and OBX have 4-2-1. OBX is the eBay special ( I have one with no complaints) but MMW isnt that much better IMO.

you have a nice little shopping list to get you started, but always keep in mind what you are going to do down the road. I have been down the same path with you, and now i kinda regret it...

You see, im an impulse shopper, even though i planned on boosting my car for quite some time, i wasted a lot of money and time on stupid stuff i didnt need a month and a half later (i.e. my TRD intake, killer glass radiator hose, TRD axle back, Blue AEM bat tie down and oil cap, blue lighting, ground wire setup. custom painted trd strut bar).

these were all parts that went with my theme at the time, but here i am 2 months after the fact and im ditching stuff left and right lol. I want my turbo setup and evrything else under my hood to look stock. Im getting rid of all the flashy colors and bright lights and going for straight performance, now i kinda feel dumb.

instead of rambling, all im saying is choose your parts wisely.
Your list is straight, but i wouldnt worry about the rad. hoses (btw, they dont flow better, they simply dont expand as much under heat loosing pressure like the stock ones.)

i decided against my hoses when i realized that they werent necisary (im finally starting to use my head) I couldnt justify 150$ for the nice perrin pieces. I might when i start upping the boost, but the koyo rad. does just fine for now.

best of luck to you.

haha nah i'm good, i don't waste my money hardly enough to worry about it. i'm just going for simple upgrades for now, i'd like to get them piece by piece and then install them all at once so i can get a REAL feel of what gains i've got.

the hoses actualy will do great for me. though my state isn't all that hot, durring this time of the year it gets warm and when you'r daily driving will 99% most likely get you stuck in HOT traffic, those hoses will help enough to have a want for them.

I did the Injen SRI, DC header and DC axleback exhaust and am pretty happy with the performance improvements.
