So... My underdrive pulley fell off!!
If you get an aftermarket underdrive pulley on your car make sure you use loc tight. I'm here to tell you, because mine fell off.
i actually had that problem too. on the tech for installing one it says hand tighten it, so i didnt wanna bend it or anything tightening it too much. the little pin that aligns it bent and was wobbling all over the place. ive got pics of it if anyone wants to see it. pm me. it cost 18 cents to get a new pin. can you belive that???? ripoff.

My pulley fell off...twice, then the dealer wanted to charge me 2200 dollars to fix it, i told them it wasnt me, i had the stock one on at that point, and they fixed the car, but hen it was on the dealers dme, they fixed it without taking apart the engine...hmmmmm. I think theres another fix than the over 2 grand crank replacement fix.
DO NOT GET A CRANK PULLEY, it will eventually fall off. Mine took over 6 months to show its faults.

I'm actually glad I saw this, I was close to getting one...
If you are really bent on putting one on the car, is it possible to use safety wire or a cotter key to keep hardware from becoming loose?

Honestly, I think it was probably the way it was installed, (maybe you didn't tighten the bolt well enough?) I bought the Perrin pulley for my car back in January this year and I've been checkng the bolt and it hasn't even loosened let alone fall off. I know others who have/had pullies on their cars and they never had this problem. I put my car through abuse in the canyons always bouncing off the limiter and still no loose pulley.
Ok guys, has anyone else had this problem? I had planned on putting my new Perrin pulley on tomorrow. Now you all have me extremely nervous about it. Lets here from the people who have had an aftermarket pully on for a while with no problems. (Hopefully there are some)
I put mine on 2 weeks ago, i used tread lock, and i made sure i tighten the nut, i use long extend metal pipes so that the braker bar and a screw driver to hold the pulley from spining while tighting the nut can slight into the metal pipes to extend the power while u tighten the nut, u have to tight the nut as much as force u taken the nut off, thats the only way to make sure its TIGHT, if u dont tighten it, or u THINK u tighten it, that means u DIDNT, it will full off because it a moving part . i mean DEAD TIGHT by extend the length of the tool ur using , its the best way to tighten it, unless u have SUPERPOWERED ARM.
yea i put it on myself took me about an hour or so cuzz it took me a bit to figure out what i was suppose to do going on what i read in the forums but i got it done........ i used air tools i didnt hand tighten anything cuzz i couldnt even take out the bolt by hand so why would i hand tighten i couldnt take out by hand.........but yea i just used air tools for taking out and putting in
