Stand Alone Fuel Management System
Has anyone done a stand alone computer etc on the xB yet? I know it is overkill on the 1.5 but want it when I go to the Celica engine and dont see why I should spend the money on emange now just to change it later? TIA

I know Emangae isn't standalone, hence the comment that I didnt want to pay for an Emange to change it later. Anyway, it just seems that a stand alone system gets rid of alot of headaches that I can see having piggybacking. If anyone has had success with any systems piggyback or not please let me know. Thanks
Your question is good and it doesn't sound like a lot of people posting so far know about doing modern Toyota motor swaps. I haven't seen the Scion ECU's but if they are anything like tthe IS300 you WILL definitely need stand alone. They are multiplexing ECUs that tend to integrate other vehicle functions besides just fuel, timing, and the rest of the normal stuff. With the IS (for example, Autmatic Transmossion control), you had to have a stand aloneinterfacing with the stock ECU to keep the tranny going.
My one question is if the Scion has Fly-by-wire, if it does you might be limited. If so I reccomend Element Tuning's Hydra.
AEM is also good as well.
For a little more money you can get the Accel DFI.
I think budget wise the AEM would do well for you.
